Serves as the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library affiliate providing free books monthly to children from birth to 5th birthday.

Literacy Volunteers - Prince William (LVA-PW) provides adult learners in Prince William County dignity, equity, and inspiration through the gift of literacy and health literacy. Mission success is achieved through holistic literacy, an innovative educational approach developed by and unique to LVA-PW. The approach encapsulates a broader understanding of literacy that encompasses both general English-based literacy skills with complex health-related information.

An after-school program providing tutoring in reading and other subjects as needed to children living in Gilpin Court and neighboring communities.

To teach adults the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English so they can access employment and educational opportunities and more fully and equitably participate in the community.

Offers books, videos, DVDs, CDs and paintings for checkout, as well as provide Internet access, wireless Internet access, inter-library loan services, and periodicals. GED prep and computer instruction are provided by the library's Adult Learning Lab. Also offered are children programs and children reference service, local history and genealogy collection with area census data.

The Progreso Center for Literacy & Citizenship is a community development and advocacy program that seeks to serve and empower immigrants to improve the quality of their lives and of their communities through education, immigration services, and leadership development.

Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in basic reading, writing, math, English, computers/technology, personal finances, citizenship, and immigration tutoring. Local partners for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, coordinate the Winchester Little Libraries that provide free books as well as leading the Campaign for Grade-level Reading.

SLC connects volunteer tutors with adult students who wish to improve their reading skills. The council trains and supports tutors as well as trains and supports students.

Provide free books to educators and families of the 757 through partnerships and our Big Free Book Store. Provides a reading program for children who are living in shelters. Volunteers spend about an hour with the children in the shelters, reading to them and doing a support activity.

The Homer and Ida Jones Creative Arts, Technology and Workforce Development Center at the Bristol Public Library provides a range of services for adults to enhance their education, digital literacy, and career skills. It offers resources for computer classes, one-on-one computer help, 3D printing, and more, as well as assistance with adult literacy and Basic Education

Helps adults with limited educational opportunities to reach their individual goals and potential as workers, citizens and family members by providing quality adult education services throughout the region. Offers Adult Education to help adults improve reading, writing and math skills to help them qualify for a better job, improve family resources or begin working toward the GED credential. Provides Workplace Literacy classes on site for business and industry. The curriculum is custom designed to meet the needs of the employer and the employee. Also provides a Family Literacy program to help parents in the role as their child's first teacher.
