The Progreso Center for Literacy & Citizenship is a community development and advocacy program that seeks to serve and empower immigrants to improve the quality of their lives and of their communities through education, immigration services, and leadership development.

Offers instruction to adults in earning their GED, teaching English as a second Language (ESL), and/or offering Adult Basic Education classes (ABE). ACCREDITED BY: Virginia State Board of Education, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Middle Peninsula Regional Adult Continuing Education provides instruction to adults to improve basic academic skills (reading, writing, and math), GED Preparation (for high school equivalency) and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). Middle Peninsula Regional Adult & Career Education (R.A.C.E.) is a Consortium made up of the public school systems in the counties of Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex, and the Town of West Point. It is one of the 22 Federal and State funded adult basic education programs serving the Commonwealth of Virginia.

ECC provides five levels of English as a Second Languages classes. The classes enable participants to develop the language and literacy skills they need to interact, engage and succeed as workers and members of the community.

Free literacy services for adults with low reading/speaking skills provided by volunteer tutors. ESLC provides training for volunteer tutors as well as professional development opportunities.

Provides free literacy services to as many adult learners in the community that need help. Offers one-on-one tutoring to adults wishing to learn to read, improve basic skills, obtain a GED, or learn English as a second language. Also offering ESL classes.

Project Literacy offers free, confidential tutoring to adults in reading, writing, English-speaking, math, and basic technology skills. Also sponsor book clubs where particpants learn strategies for better reading comprehension.

BEACON offers in-person English and Citizenship classes both in the morning and in the evening. Classes are 12 weeks and site locations include: Bethel Lutheran Church, Manassas Presbyterian Church, Manassas Baptist Church, and Manassas Park Community Center. Students must come to an in-person registration to enroll in online classes.
