Provides administration of all public school programs offered by Clarke County.

Kindergarten Registration will be held at Galax Elementary School. Parents, plan to attend on one of the dates to be designated, with your child to register. Kindergarten teachers will be conducting short school readiness tests with the children. Spanish speaking families should attend when a translator will be present.

Provides administration of the Bath County public school programs. Programs include education, special education programs, counseling, social work, and a school health program.

Annual kindergarten registration and orientation event will take place at all of the division's elementary schools (except for B.F. Williams and Newtown) Parents can register their child for kindergarten at any time leading up to the school year, this event will include an open house for future students and their parents, tours of the school and an overview of the kindergarten program. Students will get to experience a school bus ride while parents fill out the necessary forms. Additional activities will vary by school.

As required by federal and state regulations, Harrisonburg City Public Schools actively seeks to identify, locate, and evaluate those children residing in Harrisonburg City from birth to age 21, who need special education and related services. PREKINDERGARTEN PROGRAM: Provides a FREE, full-day, high-quality instructional program for preschool aged students identified as at risk for early academic challenges. There are 21 Title I classes for three-year-olds and 90 classes for 4-year-olds located throughout the school division and the city of Norfolk. TITLE 1 The purpose of this program is to provide local education agencies supplemental federal funds to assist schools with high percentages of economically disadvantaged students.
