Preschool program runs concurrent with the Augusta County school calendar and is a full day program, 5 days a week except for one Friday of each month. This Friday is used for screenings, teacher trainings and home visits. Assessments for math and literacy are completed three times throughout the year to track students' progress and ensure preparedness for kindergarten. Family Service Workers work with every family to provide support outside of the classroom and to foster a positive relationship with schools.

Healthy Families provides voluntary, comprehensive home-visiting services that support at-risk expectant and new parents and help prevent poor childhood outcomes. Home visits are activity-based and focus on a variety of topics including healthy family functioning, family goal planning, maternal and child health, positive parenting strategies, child development, and school readiness. Home visitors also provide families with referrals to a wide array of community resources.

The primary goal of the program is to provide early childhood education and intensive mental health treatment to children. In addition, SCAN works with caregivers to empower them to help reduce the long-term effects of traumatic abuse and neglect for children. SCAN work to integrate children into mainstream classroom settings so that they are able to be successful in school.

Lyn-CAG Children and Family Services operates the Head Start Early Childhood Program for children ages three to five years old, from low-income families. Head Start promotes the school readiness of children, by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Head Start programs provide a learning environment that supports children’s growth in many areas such as language, literacy, and social and emotional development.
