Henrico CASA provides court appointed volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who are the subject of judicial proceedings involving allegations of abuse or neglect. Henrico CASA works within the court system to assist in providing each such child a safe and permanent home and seeks to educate the community concerning the needs of abused and neglected children.

JFS’ Personal Affairs Management Program prevents this from happening, and provides a safety net for the most vulnerable adults in our communities. Guardian The Court appoints JFS to be responsible for making decisions regarding the individual’s support, care, health, safety, rehabilitation, education, therapeutic treatment, and residence. Conservator The Court appoints JFS to be responsible for managing the estate and financial affairs of an incapacitated person.

Richmond CASA recruits, trains, and supervises competent and dedicated volunteers who advocate for the needs of abused, neglected, and at-risk children in juvenile dependency proceedings. By advocating for children in court cases, CASA volunteers promote safe, permanent homes for all children and seek to educate the community about the needs of abused and neglected children.

The Hanover CASA Program advocates for the best interests of children involved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court process. The CASA program trains and supervises volunteers who gather information that is shared with the court when making decisions about the needs of abused and neglected children, or other children involved in juvenile dependency cases.

Recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers, who after completing a 37 hour training, are inducted as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) in the local juvenile courts. These volunteers are appointed by the courts to work with other agencies to achieve safety, nurturance and permanence for child victims of abuse and/or neglect.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for abused and neglected children. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. Independent research has demonstrated that children with a CASA volunteer are less likely to spend time in long-term foster care and less likely to reenter care. Becoming a CASA volunteer is an investment of time, energy and heart.

CASA of Central Virginia (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who advocate on behalf of children who have been abused or neglected. CASA volunteers give children a voice in court. Advocates must be appointed by the judge. We are not authorized to work with families unless appointed.
