Foster parent is an approved provider who is committed both to supporting family reunification and also to adopting the child if the child and family do not reunify. As noted, sometimes children are unable to return home, so in Virginia, all families are dually-certified as foster parents and adoptive parents. You may specify your preference for foster care, adoption or both during the home study process. However, dual-certification provides more flexibility for the family and allows for changing future circumstances.

Region Ten's Adult Developmental Services Center offers a wide range of person-centered services designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities in living a safe, healthy, and productive life as independently as possible. These services include case management, group home residential, sponsored residential, in-home support services, independent living supports, day support services, and community engagement.

Emergency food assistance includes non-perishable canned/boxed food items. Families can receive a bag of canned goods, boxed goods, or both. Also provide feminine care products.

The Community Outreach Unit (COU) builds and maintains strong partnerships with Arlington's residential community and stakeholder groups through proactive engagement to foster open dialogue, improve safety and prevent crime. For those facing financial hardship from unemployment, a family crisis, or a chronic medical condition, EnergyShare is Dominion's energy assistance program of last resort. There is no income guideline requirement, however, those under age 60 must have a disconnect notice (those age 60 or older do not need a disconnect notice). EnergyShare intake agencies determine eligibility for EnergyShare and may have additional requirements when qualifying customers for this program.

Outpatient mental health and substance abuse programs for adults are provided at Holston Counseling Center. Services include individual and group psychotherapy, marital and family therapy, pharmacotherapy, crisis services, case management, psychiatric consultation, intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment. Other services offered at this site include Co-Occurring Case Management, an intensive case management services for consumers who have a major mental illness and substance abuse disorder diagnosis; Mother-Child Connection, Mother-Child Connection, an outpatient program for substance-abusing women who are pregnant or mothers with dependent children; and HOPE for Tennessee, an education/prevention service provides information on HIV/STD's and other communicable diseases, universal precautions, abstinence, teen pregnancy and provides specialty services for individuals with HIV.

he Department of Student Services supports every student’s educational journey by promoting their social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being. The department provides counseling and mental health services, meets physical health needs through school nurses, promotes attendance, addresses behavior challenges, and fosters safe school environments. Partner with families, teachers, and community partners to provide each child with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, both in and out of the classroom.

LIFE Support group explores alternatives to abusive situations, interaction with other members to encourage personal growth through peer interaction, domestic violence information and exploration/awareness of personal options. The Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office (SFMO) provides fire safety to the citizens of the Commonwealth by educating citizens and visitors about fire hazards and fire prevention techniques and identifying factors that increase risks from fire and implementing programs to reduce those risks.

Administers programs that enhances public safety by controlling and supervising sentenced offenders in a humane, cost efficient manner, consistent with sound correctional principles and constitutional standards.

A home medical equipment supplier providing respiratory and convalescent products. Respiratory Equipment including: Home oxygen systems (concentrators, tanks) Oxygen portables Aerosol machines Suction equipment CPap/BiPap masks and supplies Nebulizers and pediatric nebulizers. Convalescent Equipment including: Hospital beds (manual and electric) Wheelchairs and a large variety of other Medical Equipment needs. Has registered and certified respiratory practitioners on call 24 hours a day.

Receives reports of abuse and neglect; conducts investigations to determine validity of the CPS reports; and provides services that enhance child safety and prevent further abuse and neglect to families and children.
