Horizon’s ICF programs offer adults with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disability with active treatment in functional skills to create an environment in which the individual can not only live safely but can excel. Horizon’s ICFs also support individuals with a variety of medical and behavioral needs that require extensive supports to be healthy. High quality, comprehensive services are provided by Horizon's interdisciplinary team of ICF staff which includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, dieticians, recreational therapists, OT/PT speech therapists, residential technicians, counselors, family social workers, case managers, and citizen volunteers among others. All work together to monitor Service Treatment Plans, medical needs, and provide daily living support which includes full-service laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and more. The result is the ability to provide continuous, direct care twenty-four (24) hours per day, with 24/7 oversight and on-call availability after normal business hours.

Provides direct services to victims and witnesses of crime. These services are defined as those efforts that respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims, assist victims of crime to stabilize their lives after victimization, assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system, and provide victims with information and referrals for services. The program advocates for the victim to assure that the victim of crime is accorded fairness, dignity and respect by the officers, employees of the Commonwealth and it's political subdivisions and officers of the courts as provided by law. Services provided include: Monitoring restitution payments to ensure that they are being made in a timely fashion * assist in filing for Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund * provide intervention and follow-up counseling * notification of the prisoner's status, provide you with employer intercession * assist in writing Impact Statements * assist in return of property being held for evidence * updates on case status * go to court with victim or witness * provide referral to other resources * assist in obtaining protection * advance notice of judicial proceedings.

The circuit court is the trial court with the broadest powers in Virginia. The circuit court handles all civil cases with claims of more than $15,000. It shares authority with the general district court to hear matters involving between $4,500 and $15,000. The circuit court has the authority to hear serious criminal cases called felonies. The circuit court also handles family matters, including divorce. In addition, the circuit court hears cases appealed from the general district court and from the juvenile and domestic relations district court.

The Arc offers training workshops that provide information and resources to assist families of children with disabilities on topics such as waivers, advocacy, and more. These are open to both parents and professionals from any locale. A special education attorney volunteers monthly to offer free 45-minute consultations (2 per month) on special education topics. The Family Support Coordinator also will provide information and referral via phone, Zoom, or email.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly the Food Stamp Program) provides a basic safety net to millions of people by providing monthly benefits to eligible low-income families which can be used to purchase food. Assistance is in the form of debit cards to help families increase their food purchasing power in order to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.
