Loudoun County Public Schools provides special education services for children ages 2 - 21 inclusive. Students who are identified as eligible for services will have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Services can begin as early as 2 years of age.

LEGAL CUSTODIAN PROGRAM FOR VETERANS The Legal Custodians program provides financial management for veterans with disabilities. The program permits The Up Center to become a veteran's custodian, allowing the agency to manage benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs if certain conditions are met. SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST The Up Center's Special Needs Trust program enables people with disabilities to receive the greatest possible benefit from financial settlements, financial gifts and other awards of money and assets without jeopardizing any public benefits and services to which they are entitled. People also use the Trust for money management and budgeting purposes.

The Office of Special Education Instruction directs and supports the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of Pre K-12 educational programs, curricula, and services that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Through this program, the Health District seeks to insure that every child in Richmond is fully immunized against infectious diseases by the age of two. Immunizations that include required school shots, flu shots, tuberculosis and vaccination for other infectious diseases are provided for children, adolescents, and adults.
