Virginia Birth Father Registry (VBFR), formerly known as the Virginia Putative Father Registry, is a confidential database maintained by the Virginia Department of Social Services that protects the rights of unmarried men (and their relatives) to children they may have (un)knowingly fathered. By voluntarily registering with VBFR within 10 days after child's birth, a putative father can protect his rights to his child(ren) and be notified in the event his child is placed for adoption or placed into foster care.
The VBFR does not establish paternity. Registration may be used to help establish paternity but does not start the legal process.

Volunteers serve between 20-40 hours per week and receive a non-taxable stipend of $3 per hour if they fall within the income guidelines set by the Federal government. Hold monthly in-service meetings to discuss best practices for working with children and information regarding senior living.

Resource Mothers is a program in which an outreach worker becomes a support person for pregnant and parenting teens. Any pregnant teen, 19 years or younger, is eligible for the program. These staff encourage the teens to complete education and build a future for themselves by providing parenting education, connecting teens to available resources, and teaching them about the care of a newborn/infant. They also provide car seat instruction and demonstration.
