CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for abused and neglected children. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. Independent research has demonstrated that children with a CASA volunteer are less likely to spend time in long-term foster care and less likely to reenter care. Becoming a CASA volunteer is an investment of time, energy and heart.

Oxford House is a network of self-run, self-supported recovery homes for members recovering from alcohol and substance abuse. When an individual is accepted for membership in an Oxford House, there is no time limit on how long he or she can live there, but the use of alcohol or drugs or non-payment of rent will result in expulsion. There is no clean time required to move into an Oxford House.

Offers a variety of programs for visitors about the park's natural and cultural history, including curriculum-based programs for elementary and secondary school children. Offers youth and adult conservation and service projects with advance planning and coordination. Also provides year-round volunteer opportunities.

There are two (2) Extended Day Enrichment Programs available: After School Enrichment Program (ASEP): The ASEP, offered in all elementary schools, operates every full day from the time school is dismissed until 6:00pm. A typical day will include time for socialization and free play, snack, homework/quiet time, and enrichment activities. ​ Student Holiday Program (SHP): The Student Holiday Program provides a safe, energetic, and enriching environment from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Reservations must be made no later than 5:00 PM the day before you need transportation and you can reserve a ride up to 7 days in advance. Restrictions may apply for additional passengers and carry-on items. The current fare for Paratransit is $3.50 per trip.

The Virginia Bleeding Disorders Program is a legislatively enacted program through the Virginia Department of Health, Division of Child and Adolescent Health, for the care and treatment of persons with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. Virginia recognizes that the ongoing medical costs of treating such bleeding disorders often exceed the financial capacity of families, despite insurance coverage. The program supports a system of coordinated, family-oriented, multidisciplinary services for persons of all ages with bleeding disorders.

EnergyShare is Dominion Energy's year-round energy assistance program of last resort. Anyone facing a crisis (ex: unemployment, family crisis, chronic medical condition) and in danger of losing their primary heating/cooling or needing to restore service may be eligible for assistance. EnergyShare is not income based; however, those under age 60 must have a disconnect notice (those age 60 or older do not need a disconnect notice). Please contact your local agency for screening requirements and to schedule an appointment.

Provides a private, not-for-profit community agency that offers a halfway house/transitional shelter for substance abusers. Services include individual and group counseling, relapse prevention and alcohol education/prevention programs. Program runs for 3 months.
