The Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of three components; Fuel Assistance (FA), Coolng Assistance (CA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). The FA component is intended to provide supplemental assistance to offset the rising costs of heating expenses. The CAP component is intended to provide assistance with heating equipment needs and emergency fuel outages. Fuel Assistance opens the second Tuesday in October. The last day for applying is the second Friday in November. Provides intensive in-home family support services for at-risk first-time parents, beginning prenatally and continuing until the child is five years of age. The goals of the program are to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect through services designed to: improve maternal and child health, facilitate healthy child development, build constructive and positive parenting and assist parents with the assessment and identification of appropriate community resources. Healthy Families America is a national program model designed to help expectant and new parents get their children off to a healthy start. Families participate voluntarily in the program and receive home visiting and referrals from trained staff. The program has three goals: to promote positive parenting, to encourage child health and development and to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Oxford House, Inc. is a network of self-run, self-supported recovery homes for members recovering from alcohol and substance abuse throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia (DC). We provide separate houses for men and women and some houses accept children with parent. When an individual is accepted for membership in an Oxford House, there is no time limit on how long he or she can live there, but the use of alcohol or drugs or non-payment of rent will result in expulsion. There is no clean time required to move into an Oxford House. All houses are near local transportation including buses and subways. Wheelchair accessibility varies by location.

DRI is governed by a Board of Directors, comprised of 20 members representing retail, restaurant, professional, industrial businesses, and property owners in downtown Roanoke and the Roanoke region of Virginia.
