Provides a non-profit regional food clearing house that gathers, stores and distributes to participating charitable agencies government surplus food products and edible but unmarketable food that has been acquired from other sources at a low cost.

Provides holiday assistance programs such as Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas kettles and Adopt A Child gift program. Must pick up and complete forms at Social Services. Completed forms are to be taken to the Salvation Army to receive a Wish List form.

Community based organization that provides assistance at Christmas in the form of a holiday meal and basic staples to applicants in Louisa County who are at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Also provide gifts of clothing, toys and new age appropriate books for children newborn through age 17 (or 18 if still residing in the home and in school).

Serves as a distribution center for donated food to a network of partner programs including nonprofit food pantries, children's feeding programs, shelters, soup kitchens, rescue missions and elderly care facilities.

Does not serve consumers directly. Consumers should contact their local food pantry or food bank. Receives donated venison from hunters, crop damage, permits, and deer management efforts. The meat is distributed free of charge to food banks, soup kitchens, church food pantries and other local feeding programs. Funds are raised to cover the cost of processing, distribution, and the overhead expenses of operation.

The Angel Tree program serves children newborn through 12 years old in the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Louisa, Greene and Nelson. Children age 13-17 are served by the WAHU Stocking Program and Seniors by the Silver Bells program.

Offer a client-choice model where a client can shop for themselves based on family size, dietary needs, and food preferences. Provide fresh veggies, meat, dairy, bread, eggs, and more. Stock canned items like tuna, soup, fruit, and veggies, as well as cereal, pasta, and dried beans. Also provide health and hygiene items such as toilet paper, soap, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

Lunch is served on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at Noon to 1:00pm to anyone who is hungry. A pantry is available after lunch until 2:00PM.

Provides monthly bags of non-perishable food to income eligible individuals and families. All food for the monthly supplemental bags is provided by the USDA. All food recipients are encouraged to contribute to the cost of operating the program by collecting and donating grocery bags, by volunteering or making a monetary contribution. The LCC also provides the intake for the Louisa County Emergency Food Pantry. The Emergency Food Pantry serves families and individuals in emergency or crisis situations. Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case. All applicants will also be screened for USDA monthly food.
