American Red Cross Immediate Assistance Hurricane Helene
Whether you own or rent, if your primary home was destroyed or sustained major damage you can call the American Red Cross to complete an application for immediate financial assistance.
* Call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) Select Option 4.
Assistance lines are open 24 hours a day. Additional resources may be available. Eligibility for Red Cross assistance is not based on FEMA eligibility or funds received.

This team is able to provide education, support, and debriefing for emergency personnel, community members, or any other group that has the need. * 2-1-1 -A 24/7, statewide trained professionals who listen to your situation and offer sources of help using one of the largest databases of health and human services in Virginia. Visit www.211virginia.org for more information.
* 7-1-1 -A 24/7 free public service, Virginia Relay enables people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafblind, sign language users, Spanish-speaking users, or those who have difficulty speaking to communicate with standard telephone users. The conversation is relayed between the two by a specially trained Virginia Relay Communication Assistant (CA).
* Lost or damaged EBT card o Call the toll-free EBT customer service help desk at 866-281-2448 If your power has been out for longer than eight hours and SNAP-purchased food spoiled, contact your local Department of Social Services office for additional benefits.
* Tetanus o LENOWISCO and Cumberland Plateau Health Districts are offering free tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) vaccines to those who affected by/assisting with the hurricane. You may need a booster shot if it has been more than 10 years since your last tetanus vaccination, you have a puncture wound and it has been more than five years since your last tetanus vaccination, or you have a wound that has come in contact with flood water and it has been more than five years since your last tetanus vaccination.
* Relief and Cleaning Supplies o Individuals in need of assistance should email [email protected] with their name, phone number, address and a brief description of the scope of work that is needed.
