Petersburg's Comfort Station is open through the end of summer. With temperatures and the heat index rising, the Petersburg Transit Center provides a place to rest, cool off and have a drink of cold water.
The Comfort Station, at 100 W. Washington St., is available to city residents from 10 a.m. to 9:15 p.m., Monday through Saturday. It will be open through the end of the summer season.
Food and pets are not permitted inside the facility except for service animals. Access to the Transit Center is available through the doors on Washington Street and the operations side where buses board. The Union Street entrance will remain closed.
