Supports local communities in developing plans and actions that will increase the numbers of children who begin kindergarten ready to read. Program's initiative is designed to provide resources, training and networking to early childhood development providers. The focus is on home based day care, private and faith based early child care providers and is funded by Square One.
Advises county groups and the community on issues of concern to women. Serves as a liaison to help the County address issues of concern to women. Provides public forums, reports to the County Board, and speakers. Offers workshops on topics such as health, financial issues and safety.
Seeks to remove discrimination wherever found and to promote equal rights for everyone. The goal is racial justice for housing, education, jobs, etc. Various fundraising events include the Freedom Fund Fashion Show.

Facilitates partnerships among public agencies and faith-based and community organizations. Serves as the clearinghouse and gateway for community and faith-based organizations interested in collaboration with government to address community needs. Promotes partnerships, training and technical assistance to help community-based organization build their capacity to provide effective services. Provides procurement and funding information to faith-based, volunteer, private, and community organizations as needed.
Provides a reception, a support group, a variety of workshops, and a newsletter. The S.A.F.E.(Sexual Assault Free Environment) program includes year-round activities designed to develop campus awareness and prevention of sexual assault. Continuing education courses, and workshops on career planning and assertive communication is available to the community and campus (with fees).

The Beard Center provides community education on healthy aging and problems of aging. Several workshops and an annual summer conference are held each year for community members, professionals and students. Additionally the center directs both an undergraduate and graduate certificate programs for becoming a specialist in gerontology.

SAARA's mission is to celebrate, support and advocate for resources and services for the prevention of and recovery from substance abuse and addiction. SAARA promotes social, educational, legal, research and health care resources and services that support accessible, effective and accountable addictions: prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery. Chapters are located statewide.
