Friendly Visitors make weekly social visits with older or homebound adults. Volunteers offer friendship and companionship to individuals looking for someone to spend time with. They share stories, listen and reminisce, play games, take walks and simply enjoy each other's company. Telephone Reassurance volunteers call every weekday morning to check in, chat and make sure everything is okay. Volunteers help start the day of an isolated individual on the right foot. They also offer peace of mind for those living alone.
Provides protection for adults from abuse and neglect. Investigates and responds to reports of suspected abuse of disabled adults over age 18 and any person over age 60. Provides 24 hour services and care to the cognitively impaired in a home like environment that is barrier free. To allow the resident to age with dignity and age in a place with a specially trained staff. Care for residents with cognitive impairment associated with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and strokes, in addition to other forms of dementia. Residence will have 30 private rooms and 5 semi-private rooms for a maximum of 40 residents. The staff to resident ratio will be 1 to 8.

Friendly Visitor Program matches trained volunteers with older adults for social visits in the older adults' homes. Volunteers sometimes complete simple tasks such as replacing light bulbs or collecting the mail. A staff member visits the home prior to the match, to ensure the volunteer's safety.
Day support program for severely handicapped persons 18 years of age and over. This includes blind, deaf, cerebral palsy and multi-handicapped persons.
The Day Support Program assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be more independent, learn new things, visit new places and make new friends. Provide individualized training in daily living skills, socialization, pre-vocational skills, and communication.

Investigates reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of adults aged 60 and over and incapacitated adults over 18 years of age and provides services when persons are found to be in need of protective services.
The Agency provides information and services that promote independence and quality of life for persons age 60 and older. Below is a partial list of services: * Communication, Referral, Information and Assistance * Senior employment services * Transportation to senior lunch sites, medical appointments, and grocery shopping. * Small home repair jobs and renovations for safety and accessibility. * Home-delivered meals (a hot lunch delivered on weekdays) * Personal care (help with bathing, dressing, grooming and ambulation). Average level of service is 2 hrs/day, 2 or 3 days a week * Respite offers caregivers a few hours off from the care of a frail, elderly family member who cannot be left alone, 2 to 4 hours, 2 days per week, additional respite time is provided for patients with Alzheimer's. * Long Term Care Ombudsman - an advocate who resolves problems for people who live in nursing homes and others who receive long-term care * Care Coordination - arranging for a variety of services and resources to maintain well-being and independence of frail elders * Assistance with health insurance - help with questions and problems concerning Medicare,Medicaid, Medicare supplement insurance and long-term care insurance. *Congregate Meals - Meals served at senior lunch sites *Chronic Disease Self Management Education Workshops *Emergency Services - financial aid for utilities, housing, etc. is provided in a crisis situation *Mobility Management Services - assists with local and out-of-town non-emergency medical transportation: Voucher Program, Miles 4 Vets (wheelchair accessible transportation for veterans to Salem VA Medical Center and Danville Community-Based Outpatient Clinic) and Volunteer Driver Program (out-of-town non-emergency medical transportation).

Protective Services to adults consist of the receipt and prompt investigation of reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of adults and of reports that adults are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. It also includes assessment of service needs, determining whether the subject of the report is in need of protective services, documenting the need for protective services, specifying what services are needed, and providing or arranging for services. Services to adults whose situations do not allege abuse, neglect, or exploitation or the risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation are provided under the adult services definition and handled as such.
Provides full range of nursing home services for the frail elderly. Includes on-staff, on-site full-time physicians and podiatrist, all specialists in geriatrics. Offers short stay rehabilitation and post-hospital care to speed recovery, and long term care for those with Alzheimer's disease and complex medical conditions. Includes skilled nursing, social work services, extensive activities program, physical, occupational, speech-language therapy, kosher meals and special diets. Also provides end-of-life and respite care. Open to all in the community.
