Provides 24 hour a day supervision, training, and assistance in daily living skills for adults who have a developmental disability. All individuals are involved in day programs and actively participate in community events. Each individual assists with the development of a service plan based on his/her individual preferences.

Offers outpatient mental health services for individuals age 18+ which include crisis intervention, case management, medication monitoring, outpatient counseling, re-socialization, early intervention, and community and in-home mental health support services. Provides a psychosocial Day Support program at Community House in Winchester for persons with serious and persistent mental illness. Also provides special transportation services for clients. Crisis services provides residents of Danville & Pittsylvania County, as well as those present in the area, with 24 hour a day crisis intervention to aid in the management of acute behavioral health problems. Also provides all prescreening evaluations for admission to state hospitals.

Provides a wide variety of clinical services for residents of the City of Lynchburg and the surrounding area. Both adults and children are offered individualized service options and specializations to meet their unique behavioral health needs. At this location, individuals have access to both in-person and telehealth care for adult and child medication management, nursing assessments, psychological evaluations, specialized outpatient therapy, specialized case management, emergency services, ambulatory crisis stabilization for children, school based services, health information management, and group therapy sessions. Early Intervention services seek to intervene or reduce the incidence of mental illness and intellectual disabilities by enhancing protective factors for at-risk children and their families At-risk populations can access specialized services that offer positive behavioral skills training, counseling, education, tutoring, support and enrichment programs through contracts with Child Development Resources (CDR) and Infant and Toddler Connection.

Assesses the consumer's needs for housing, medical care, employment, etc. and seeks to help the individual obtain these resources. This approach is long term and indefinite, with efforts prioritized to those at risk of rehospitalization. Case management services include hospital liaison and discharge planning. Maintains responsibility for the consumer as the person enters the psychiatric hospital and while an inpatient, the case manager works with the family, inpatient staff and community services board programs to insure an effective plan to return to the community.

An early intervention program, CHIP addresses the unique mental health risks children and families in poverty face, through in-home family support and parenting education that helps lessen the detrimental effects of poverty. Families receive support and encouragement, therapeutic interventions, parenting guidance, referrals for counseling or out patient counseling through CHIP either in-home or in an office setting, care coordination for psychiatric evaluation and medication management. When combined, these interventions produce confident parents, self-sufficient families, and healthy children with a strong foundation upon which to build future successes. Mental health services focus on mothers with mental health issues (diagnosed or presenting) and children through age seven who are at risk for serious emotional disturbance, as well as children who are already showing signs of emotional or behavioral issues.

Mental Health Intake & Resource Center handles direct admissions to the adult (Mundy 3) and child/adolescent (Krise 6) psychiatric acute programs at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Mental health professionals from across Virginia may call for a direct admission if they have assessed the patient and believe s/he meets criteria (danger to self or others). The Center also provides information about mental health resources in our community and beyond. Provides mental health, substance abuse, and prevention services. Provides planning and assessment; linking the individual to services and supports; assists with developing and/or obtaining needed supports and resources; coordination of services and service planning, contacting providers or resources, making collateral contacts with significant others; monitoring progress and service delivery; counseling and education; and advocacy.

Psychiatric and Nursing Services provides consumers with diagnostic assessments and evaluations, education regarding mental illness and medication issues, medication management, drug and alcohol screenings, prescriptions, medication administration, injections, lab work, consultations with other members of multi-disciplinary team, consultation and referral to outside health care providers. Psychiatric and Nursing Services also provides consultation to District 19 Substance Use and Intellectual Disability Services.

Offers a variety of treatment options for alcohol and drug addiction, depression, anxiety, and a host of other issues. Special programs for adults, adolescents, and children, and treatment is always provided in a confidential and comforting environment. RESPOND assessments are also available through Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and Pulaski Community Hospital.
