Sentara RMH Assessment Center – A Crisis and Intervention Team Assessment Center, also known as CITAC, is a partnership between local law enforcement, Sentara RMH and HRCSB to provide a safe environment for assessing involuntary behavioral health hospitalization. Trained law enforcement officers work with a trained clinician at the ER along with a peer-support provider to manage the issue most effectively while preserving the dignity of the individual.

RESPOND will provide the reassurance you need to cope with your concerns, whether for yourself or a loved one. Offers free psychiatric assessments, referrals, and admissions. Offers a variety of treatment options for alcohol and drug addiction, depression, anxiety, and a host of other issues. RESPOND assessments are also available through Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and Pulaski Community Hospital.

Provides the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, a national 24-hour and toll-free suicide prevention service available to all those in suicidal crisis who are seeking help. Hotline are available in English and Spanish. The network is comprised of over 100 individual crisis centers across the country creating a nationwide coverage area. Crisis Services staff are available to offer support, guidance, and direct intervention when necessary for persons in behavioral health crisis. Crisis Counselors work in conjunction with local hospitals, first responders, and community members to assist with resolving situations and developing plans of immediate care to outpatient and inpatient resources.
