Counselor works in the school setting to promote client's participation/success in mainstream classroom. The program serves children between the ages of 10 and 18. The program implements individual and group counseling services to teach adolescents life skills. Provides employment coaching as well as coordination of therapeutic services. The program is participant focused but works to involve the parents in treatment planning. The frequency and intensity of the contacts with the Youth Counselor are determined according to the individual needs of the participants. Youth typically are in the program and monitored between 2 and 6 months. Community Attention works in conjunction with the 16th District Court Services Unit to provide Electronic Monitoring, Assessment, and Diversion services to Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
