Crisis Intervention - Roanoke, Child and Family Crisis Intervention, Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare

Crisis Intervention Crisis services offered to children and adolescents who are at risk of entering the hospital or have marked reduction in their psychiatric, adaptive, or behavioral functioning, or an extreme increase in personal distress. Crisis Intervention provides up to 30 days of short-term counseling intended to prevent exacerbation of the condition and provide treatment in the least restrictive setting. Provides direct outpatient counseling to children who have been victims of abuse as well as to their non-offending family members. Our counselors help children to cope with the trauma of abuse and/or family violence. Families learn to strengthen safety measures to prevent the re-occurrence of trauma. In addition, Youth Counseling Program provides community education and training on issues of child physical and sexual abuse as needed. Children may be referred to the program by social services agencies, police, courts, and concerned individuals, including family members. All services are provided free of charge.
