Youth Services operate community-based and family-focused residential homes, apartment-based independent living programs and clinical counseling.

VHBG's Therapeutic Resource Center provides counseling, consultation, and psychoeducation services to individual youth, families, and groups. All of these services are supervised by a licensed professional. These services effectively and directly meet the needs of youth and families served through VHBG and better mirror a youth's Individual and Family Service Plan (IFSP). VHBG provides a Youth Mental Health First Aid USA eight-hour public education program free to the community each month. This program introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions and provide initial help, and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. The course is designed for adults who regularly interact with youth (teachers, school staff, coaches, church and youth group leaders, parents, social workers, hospital staff, law enforcement, employers, etc.). The Youth Mental Health First Aid USA curriculum is primarily focused on information participants can use to help adolescents and transition-age youth, ages 12-18. The course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behavior disorders, and substance use disorders.

VTCC provides a broad range of therapy and psychiatric services on an outpatient basis. VTCC's Outpatient Clinic serves children, adolescents and young adults.

JFS offers professional counseling to children, adolescents, adults, seniors, families, and couples. Also provide neuropsychological assessments for older adults.

Provides a variety of clinical services for residents of Appomattox County and the surrounding area. Services and programs are designed to support the mental health and overall wellbeing of our clients. Individuals who seek behavioral healthcare services can receive outpatient therapy and case management for both children and adults. Case managers help bridge connections to appropriate resources in the community while therapists work with the client to manage patient care by first completing an evaluation and establishing a treatment plan with objectives and measurable goals. Nurse Practitioners can offer medication management and nursing assessments to both children and adults via telehealth to help promote the safe and effective use of medications.
