The Women's Center meets the diverse psychological needs of women, men and families by offering numerous services and specialties.

Outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults are provided at Scott County Mental Health Center. Services include individual and group psychotherapy, marital and family counseling, psychiatric services, medication monitoring, crisis services, intensive in-home services, and education and consultation services. Project LINK, an outpatient program for pregnant, substance-abusing women or mothers with dependent children, is also offered at this site. In-Home Services, Home-based family-focused services are provided for children from birth to 17 with emotional difficulties, returning from placement, or who are at risk of out-of-home placement or other services. FOOTHOLDS works one on one with children and their families to build a healthy family environment. The program helps identify obstacles, increase communication skills, structure positive home, social skills development; provides support, guidance and links to resources; and educates caregivers. Service in Scott County is provided in partnership with Planning District One Behavioral Health Services.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling Adolescence and Adult Certified Batterer Intervention

Provides mental health counseling to residents of Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta. A sliding scale fee is available for all clients, based on the client's family income and number of dependents. Most health insurances are also accepted. Individual, couples, marital, and family counseling is provided for a wide variety of presenting issues: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, domestic violence, social and emotional difficulties, sexual abuse and recovery, career change and job stress, grief and loss, child and adolescent concerns, LGBQT+ issues, coping with life transitions, anger management, family and parenting concerns, and more.

Cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, family systems therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Prepare-Enrich Program, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) -- Overall child, family, and marriage counseling with a focus on trauma informed care.
