Mental Health Skill-Building: Assists those with mental health diagnoses in meeting all of life's struggles and challenges - from helping the client to access community resources to training the client in the most basic life skills. Provides mental health supports meeting a wide range of needs associated directly with the mental illness itself and also with the accompanying issues that go along with every mental health diagnosis. SA/MH Outpatient Outpatient services consist of individual, group, and family counseling depending on the individuals need. Services will be offered at minimum an hour each week and treatment will cover topics such as coping skills, mental health wellness, anger management, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and other concerns persons with substance abuse and/or mental health issues may face.

Offers counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. Issues can include anxiety, children, chronic pain or illness, depression, end-of-life issues, elderly, family, relationship, marital issues, phobias, psychological assessment, sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, spiritual development, substance abuse.

JFS offers professional counseling to children, adolescents, adults, seniors, families, and couples. Also provide neuropsychological assessments for older adults.

The Expectant Mother Program's purpose is to not only provide traditional case management, but also educational, emotional and everyday support specifically for pregnant and new mothers. Medical attention will be coordinated and arranged with local health facilities that will provide general and prenatal care. One-on-one counseling services will include counseling services with a psychologist and professional counselor. Parenting Support Groups that utilize evidence-based parenting support groups will be provided as the woman prepares for child birth and may also include other family members for navigation and co-parenting services.

This program provides daily medical checks, medication, and staff oversight. Daily groups for individuals and families/significant others, individualized counseling, linkages to community resources (primary health care, AA/NA, vocational, housing, etc.) as well as continuity of care and discharge planning.

RACSB offer psychiatric counseling to individuals, groups and families; specialized outpatient counseling and case management services; case management services to link individuals to community resources and to inpatient/residential programs. RACSB also offer emergency crisis intervention.

Connections ABA & Family Support Services Provides home-based and clinic-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children and adolescents under the age of 21 who demonstrate significant impairment in adaptive functioning that is related to either developmental delays or other health conditions.

Provides mental health services through Valley Behavioral Health Associates located at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. Offers individual, couples, and family therapy and medication management to residents of Shenandoah County. In addition, Valley Behavioral Health Associates offers services to outpatient adolescents and hospitalized patients at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. Valley Behavioral Health offers support for seniors age 65 and older who are struggling to adjust to changes in their lives. Provides a variety of clinical services for residents of Appomattox County and the surrounding area. The Free Clinic of Powhatan provides mental health counseling for patients dealing with minor to moderate mental health care problems. A psychiatrist is available once each month for medication management in cases that require additional pharmaceutical management.

Provides counseling (for an individual, adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples), psychological testing and assessment, referrals for emergency assistance, and information. The staff participates in community development.

Outpatient counseling serves individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
