Richmond Veteran Center offer confidential help for Veterans, service members, and their families at no cost in a non-medical setting. Services include counseling for needs such as depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST).

Offers professional/licensed clinicians provide crisis intervention, short-term, and non-medical counseling to active duty service members. Currently, we provide counseling only to active duty personnel. Counselors also provide command consultations and crisis debriefs. At some point, we hope to be able to resume providing counseling services to military spouses and children. Offers individual, family and couples counseling to active duty Marines and their families by Licensed Clinicians. Also offers workshops and seminars on a variety of topics including: stress management, anger control, couple's communication, suicide prevention and divorce. Provides assessment and treatment for active duty Marines and their family members experiencing domestic violence, including educational and preventive programs and victim advocacy. Also provides support groups for families of deployed service members.

Bedford Community Health Center offers primary care services to adult and pediatric patients, as well as behavioral health. Office based opioid treatment; an outpatient therapy for those wanting to stop opioid usage. Pharmacy on-site with home delivery available. All insurances are accepted. Uninsured or underinsured patients may apply for a reduced fee rate based on household size and income.

VHBG's Therapeutic Resource Center provides counseling, consultation, and psychoeducation services to individual youth, families, and groups. All of these services are supervised by a licensed professional. These services effectively and directly meet the needs of youth and families served through VHBG and better mirror a youth's Individual and Family Service Plan (IFSP). VHBG provides a Youth Mental Health First Aid USA eight-hour public education program free to the community each month. This program introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions and provide initial help, and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. The course is designed for adults who regularly interact with youth (teachers, school staff, coaches, church and youth group leaders, parents, social workers, hospital staff, law enforcement, employers, etc.). The Youth Mental Health First Aid USA curriculum is primarily focused on information participants can use to help adolescents and transition-age youth, ages 12-18. The course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behavior disorders, and substance use disorders.

In-Home Services, Home-based family-focused services are provided for children from birth to 17 with emotional difficulties, returning from placement, or who are at risk of out-of-home placement or other services. FOOTHOLDS works one on one with children and their families to build a healthy family environment. The program helps identify obstacles, increase communication skills, structure positive home, social skills development; provides support, guidance and links to resources; and educates caregivers, and Transitions teaches independent living skills to individuals who are 16 to 21 years old so they may achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate least-restrictive environment. Services in Lee, Scott and Wise Counties and the City of Norton are provided in partnership with Planning District One Behavioral Health Services.
