Recruits and trains volunteers who help with administrative work, counsel adopters, offer pet care in the shelter.

Primary service is placing service dogs with people with disabilities. Serves people with a wide range of disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, brain injury, stroke, paralysis, and many other debilitating conditions. Partners with facilities to place dogs to assist in educational, healthcare, counseling, and visitation settings. While these are not service dogs and do not have public access, they work daily to assist a wide range of people to overcome their disabilities. Offers volunteer opportunities.

Mill Mountain Zoo promotes an appreciation and understanding of animals and habitat conservation through the use of quality exhibits and educational programs. Education team has many different programs such as guided tours, field trips, outreach program, and camps. All education programming aligns with Virginia SOL academic standards.

Provides humane society for Culpeper County that is committed to the mission of ensuring that every companion animal in the Culpeper community receives loving and responsible care. The Humane Society of Culpeper continues to find homes for abused and abandoned animals through our foster program and to offer low-cost spay/neuter services. We are also redoubling our efforts to evolve into our county's first no-kill rescue organization.

Providing care and adoption of "unwanted" companion animals through: "no-kill" adoption center, foster care networks, satellite adoption venues, and Kitten & Puppy Rescue/Transport Programs; by funding veterinary services and education programs; and, by controlling over-population through low-cost Spay-Neuter-Vaccinate and Feral Cat Trap/Neuter/Release programs.

Provides low cost spay and neuter, dental services, low cost vaccines & microchips to the public and to animals adopted through Chesapeake Animal Services. Also run an adoption and foster care program.

RAL have volunteers who tend to the animals; serve as adoption counselors; participate in fundraising activities and special events as well as serve on various committees.

Services available through the Fauquier SPCA include lost and found assistance, humane education, pet therapy, spay/neuter surgery, tag identification, and behavioral training. Our major focus is on the complete elimination of the pain and suffering caused by pet overpopulation and neglect. Provides an animal shelter for the County of Madison that operates under guidelines from the Commonwealth of Virginia to temporarily house stray or injured animals, provide for adoption of as many animals as possible,unadoptable animals are sent to other rescues .The Shelter strives to encourage, promote, and preserve responsible pet ownership and to prevent any form of cruelty to animals. Pet adoptions are available to all interested in providing an animal a good home. Volunteers and donations are welcome.

The Southwest Virginia Medical Reserve Corps is a cadre of volunteer health care professionals and community members trained to respond and assist the local Emergency Response Systems in the 13 counties and 3 cities that comprise Southwestern Virginia. Throughout the region, citizens are prepared to assist with public health crises in the Lenowisco, Cumberland Plateau and/or Mount Rogers Health Districts.
