Boys & Girls club is a safe, clean and fun environment where youth 6-18 learn educational, social, leadership, artistic and recreational skills.
Provides an after-school program during the school year and a summer program for youth ages 6 to 18. Offers youth development programs in the following areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation. The Mission of the Boys & Girls Club is "To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens."
Provides youth development programs including homework help and tutoring, alcohol and drug abuse prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, conflict resolution, juvenile delinquency prevention, athletics, cultural enrichment, citizenship and leadership development, outdoor and environmental education, and parent training. Boys and Girls Club offers Hispanic programming. Eligible ages are 5 to 18, there are no other restrictions. Immunization records and proof of physical exam required.
Provides before and after school state-licensed school-age child care program and youth development in 5 core program areas for Grades K-5 at the following elementary schools in Rockingham County: Mountain View Elementary, Plains Elementary, Pleasant Valley Elementary, South River Elementary, Elkton Middle School and Elkton Elementary School. City locations are all at Lucy F. Simms Continuing Education Center. Operates every day that school is in session. Participants will have opportunities to participate in a wide variety of supervised activities within a framework of Education and Career Development, Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Character and Leadership Development, The Arts and Health and Life skills. Hours of operation are as follows: City Clubs School Year: M,T,W,Th,F 2:30PM-6:30PM. County Clubs School Year: M,T,W,Th,F End of school day-6PM. All Clubs Summer: M,T,W,Th,F 7:00AM-6PM. Elkton Middle School: M,T,W,Th,F 2:30PM-6PM school year only. Teen Center School Year: M,T,W,Th 2PM-9PM and F 2PM-11PM. Teen Center Summer: M,T,W,Th,F 1PM-9PM. New Vision Academy for Grade 6-12 students suspended from Harrisonburg City Public Schools: M,T,W,Th,F 8:30AM-2:30PM.
Provides quality after-school care and programs under our five core areas of Education and Career Development, Character & Leadership Development, the Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation and Health and Life skills to children in Martinsville and Henry County age 5-18 yrs.old.
