The Span Center, formerly know as Senior Connections, Friendship Cafés are neighborhood gathering places for older adults. Participants receive a nutritious midday meal while interacting with good friends and participating in diverse activities. Our Friendship Cafés help fight social isolation in older adults by keeping them active and connected to their community.

Provide enrichment of the quality of life for participants by providing a continuum of services that are integral to the development of neighborhoods. These include cultural enrichment, health and physical activities, social enhancement, personal development and life skills, outdoor and environmental education.

Now known as the VPAS Cafe', this service provides recreation, socialization, education and a hot noon meal. Provides an access point for seniors to other Valley Program for Aging Services.

Blue Ridge Recreation Area -Is owned and operated by Rockbridge County. It houses a 25-meter outdoor pool featuring a 12' diving well, as well as a separate wading/kiddies' pool for toddlers (enclosed by a fence). The pool site also includes bathhouses with dressing areas and hot showers, a playground with swings and picnic tables. Lake A. Willis Robertson - Is owned and operated by Rockbridge County. The Lake Robertson Recreation Area is a popular family destination featuring 56 tent and hook-up sites, picnic shelters, tennis courts, Lake Robertson Pool, volleyball court, 10 miles of hiking trails, boat and canoe rentals, horseshoes and a 26 acre fishing lake. The Radford Senior Center uses the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) standard of recognizing seniors as 50 years old or older. All senior events are for senior citizens only.

Some activities include walking trips, bowling, movies and other outings .The Senior Center welcomes residents and non-residents age 50 years and older.

Neighborhood centers offer a variety of recreational activities including pool, ping pong, basketball, foosball, and four-square as well as skill development in special topics, arts and cultural explorations, and academic enrichment. Neighborhood centers offer activities for all ages - After School programming, Fifty Plus programming, family meal nights, Teen Scene, summer day camps, social activities for the neighborhood, and city-wide tournaments.

The Orange County Parks and Recreation Department (OCPR) is primarily responsible for the development of leisure activities for the citizens of Orange County. Also schedule the county facility at Barboursville Community Park. OCPR provides a wide variety of organized leisure activities for all ages. OCPR also offers seasonal discount tickets to area theme parks. Additionally, discount movie tickets to Regal Cinemas are available year-round with no expiration date.
