The City of Martinsville has entered into a contract with the Martinsville YMCA to provide contractual services for the City Parks and Recreation programs. The YMCA will advertise and accept applications for youth football, basketball, baseball, co-ed adult softball, etc; assign teams and schedules, coordinate venues, arrange, officiate, etc. related to these activities.

Provides recreational activities for the citizens of Patrick County. The Recreation Department is responsible for administering and/or supporting a variety of recreational programs, including, but not limited to, elementary football and basketball, summer baseball leagues, soccer, adult volleyball, men's and women's softball, and a number of various recreation special events and programs. The Recreation Department is also responsible for maintaining the County leased recreational facilities at Rotary Field and the Fred Clifton Park at Lover's Leap and also provides maintenance support for other County owned parks and recreational facilities.

The Dog Park at Waller Mill Park is located at the main entrance to the park, adjacent to the parking lot. The 1 ½ acre dog park is an unleashed dog park with two areas for dogs to run. One fenced area is for smaller dogs weighing 30 lbs. or less, and the other fenced area is for all dogs.

Provides before and after school child care in all elementary schools in Fauquier county. FCCC also provides a weekly summer camp for children in Fauquier and neighboring counties.

HACA and the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation work together to provide both a family camp session and a summer camp experience for kids with a bleeding disorder and their siblings that live in Virginia or HACA’s coverage area. Camp Youngblood is a weeklong summer camp for kids ages 7-17 that takes place at Camp Holiday Trails in Charlottesville, VA, usually in July.

Offers a multi-faceted recreation and community center. Provides indoor winter leagues with Basketball, volleyball, karate and indoor walking for health program. Outdoor leagues include softball, and all types baseball for all youth ages. Offers Your Way, weight room, lighted tennis courts, concerts, and a shelter with picnic tables to rent. Red Cross water safety instruction is offered at the pool. The pool is disability accessible with a chair lift.

Provide recreational opportunities for the citizens of the County. The Parks and Recreations Department operates two recreational pool facilities, a skate park, tennis court and pickle ball court. In addition, the Parks and Recreation Department coordinates youth and adult sports programs including soccer, baseball, football, softball, volleyball and basketball.

Lynchburg Parks & Recreation’s aquatics program offers swim lessons to lifeguard training, to a water slide, public pool and sprayground.

A 4-H Junior Camp - a summer camp program for youth ages 9-12 and 13-18 for counselors. In addition to programming, the 4-H Center is available for rental to groups for business or private gatherings and functions like annual meetings, trainings, and family reunions.
