The International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville resettles approximately 250 refugees each year. Services include case management, employment, health services, ESL and other educational programs among others. IRC offers low cost immigration services to the general community including applications for legal permanent residence (green cards) and U.S. citizenship. IRC also offers interpretation services to many private and public organizations and agencies through the area with more than 50 trained community interpreters speaking 15 different languages.

Relays calls between deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech disabled people and hearing people. Calls can be made to anywhere in the world and from anywhere in the United States and Canada. Virginia Relay is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week and 365 days/year. If you're calling about a Virginia Relay feature or quality control issue, you can contact Virginia Relay Customer Care at 1-866-894-4116 (voice) or 1-866-246-9300 (TTY), 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You also can ask a Communications Assistant (CA) to transfer you to Customer Care before, during or after a Relay call. If you have a relay complaint, please contact VDDHH. Virginia Relay also provide Outreach services to heigten public awareness about the availability of telecommunication relay services. We give presentations, training and exhibits. We also have a program called Virginia Relay Partners, which provide free training to businesses and its employees on how to receive or place relay calls so they may provide quality customer service to its' deaf, hard of hearing and speech disabled customers.

The Refugee Resettlement program welcomes refugees, empowering people escaping persecution to begin new lives with dignity through early self-sufficiency. CCC strives to help these newcomers as they transition into our society while also fostering a community climate of acceptance for persons of different cultures. Services include orientation, employment, case management, English as a Second Language classes, school liaison services, medical liaison services and housing.

Credit and non-credit ESL courses in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, Accent Reduction, Conversation, and TOEFEL preparation offered at the college. Also administers on-site workplace and corporate ESL classes. Language lab and tutoring are available for students in the program.
