The Frederick County Department of Social Services is administered by an eight-member board appointed by the Frederick County Board of Supervisors. The Department of Social Services administers a broad range of benefit and service programs to eligible Frederick County residents. Benefits programs include Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid, Food Assistance (Supplemental Nutrition Assurance Program), Auxiliary Grants, Child Care Assistance, Energy Assistance, and Employment Services (VIEW).
