Employee Development and Work Adjustment Training is comprehensive, individualized, and designed to develop or reestablish skills, attitudes, personal characteristics, work behaviors, and functional capacities in order to achieve positive employment outcomes. Veterans from all periods of military service are eligible for job referral, job training and job placement assistance through the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC), with an emphasis on those veterans who are disabled, minority, female, homeless, and/or culturally or economically disadvantaged. The Assistant Secretary of Labor for VETS has designated these specific groups of veterans to receive special assistance. Veterans may access these employment services through a statewide network of VEC Field Operations offices and the Veterans Services Staff (DVOP and LVER) who are assigned to most, but not all, of the VEC Workforce Centers across Virginia. The VEC assists between 13,000 and 15,000 veterans annually in securing unsubsidized employment, depending on the economy and employer demand. PARC Supported Employment Program provides opportunities for individuals with moderate to severe disabilities to gain and maintain competitive jobs in the community.

Provides the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), a service and work based training program for older workers. The program was authorized by Congress to provide subsidized, part-time service training for low-income persons age 55 or older who live in the service area and have a right to work in the US. The program also serves veterans and individuals with disabilities. SCSEP works by partnering with community agencies. The purpose of the Kenmore Club is to provide citizens who are living with the effects of mental illness the chance to work and become self-supporting members of the community. Members participate voluntarily in work units of their choice which focus on the duties necessary for the daily operation of the Club. Work units include: Food; Membership; Clerical; and Maintenance. By taking part in the unit activities members gain confidence, build self-esteem, learn job-related skills, and work with others towards a common goal of recovery. Kenmore Club also provides educational training and transitional employment opportunities.

VSN work with employers to fill temp-to-perm, contract, and direct-hire positions as well as offering consulting and professional services project teams. A mini-business operated by Clubhouse staff. Consumers work for competitive wages. GMB provides lawn care and cleaning services, both residential and commercial. Individuals must be screened by Clubhouse staff to enter this program.

Funded by a federal grant that provides employment and training to seniors 55 years and older with limited incomes by placing the participants in community services work sites for job training in their service area. The training positions are financially subsidized by the grant by paying the participants minimum wage for twenty hours a week. The training positions include: clerical, homemaker, bus/van drivers, meal delivery drivers and more.
