The provision of employment related services for eligible individuals receiving SNAP and TANF to assist client in entering and retaining employment. Upon assessment of employment needs, individuals may receive job skills training, on-the-job training, community work experience, job readiness training, job search and /or educational services. Assistance with transportation, day care and other work related expenses may available to those who qualify.

Provides customers with job services, unemployment insurance services, labor market information services and employer recruitment services. Matches job seekers to employer job openings. Administers unemployment benefits for persons who have worked in Virginia and other states. Benefit claims may also be filed on the Virginia Employment Commission web site at www.VaEmploy.com or by calling toll free 1-866-832-2363. Provides information and services on other special programs such as the trade act program, alien labor certification, veterans, persons with disabilities, older workers, youth etc. These services are provided at no charge to the consumer.

Provides the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), a service and work based training program for older workers. The program was authorized by Congress to provide subsidized, part-time service training for low-income persons age 55 or older who live in the service area and have a right to work in the US. The program also serves veterans and individuals with disabilities. SCSEP works by partnering with community agencies. SCSEP pays a training stipend to the individual while the partner community agency provides the training.
