VEI offers free cataract surgery to people who do not have insurance (including Medicare or Medicaid) and do not have the financial means to pay for cataract surgery.
A 60 bed hospital offers emergency care, intensive care and obstetrics, and a medical/surgical/pediatric unit. Outpatient services include radiology, physical therapy and surgical services. Provides the most high-tech cancer care through the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center.
The Critical Care Hospital houses intensive care units for people who are critically injured or critically ill, as well as for premature newborns and heart, neurology, respiratory, cancer and burn patients. Each area is prepared for the highest level of care, with advanced monitoring devices, mechanical ventilators and all the necessary equipment for organ support.
Provides surgical replacement of total knee, hip and other joints.
Offers surgical care at reduced rates to patients meeting federal poverty guidelines. Several types of surgeries are performed, including cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, ectropion and entropion, and post-cataract laser surgery (Yag capsulotomy).
