Physician Referral - Harrisonburg, RMH Healthsource, Sentara RMH Medical Center

Offers physician referral to over 350 different specialties in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Some of the interests include: knowing more about nutrition, understanding how to live with diabetes, and learning life-saving techniques such as CPR. Information on classes and groups for all ages is available, from soccer and swim lessons for children to activities for older adults. A library of health topics is available to the public. Healthsource can provide speaker resources on many health topics for meetings, groups and organizations. The classes are offered at the Wellness Pavilion, RMH Atrium and other locations.

An effective self-management education program for people with chronic health problems. CDSMP workshops meet 2 hours per week for 6 weeks. Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders. CDSMP deals with problems associated with chronic disease, appropriate exercise, proper use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, and, how to evaluate new treatments.
