Public health nurses give immunizations to protect against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Through this program, the Health District seeks to insure that every child in Richmond is fully immunized against infectious diseases by the age of two. Immunizations that include required school shots, flu shots, tuberculosis and vaccination for other infectious diseases are provided for children, adolescents, and adults.

Foreign travel services are provided by appointment only and include updating some common immunizations, food and water safety, proper insect repellant practices, and education on various subjects. Other immunizations are provided, usually free of charge to the uninsured population, especially to minors. Must have an adult willing to be responsible accompany the minor.
