Medication Assistance Program The "RxRelief" Medication Assistance Program helps income-eligible uninsured residents obtain low-cost medications. Each of the county health departments provide immunizations for infants, children and adolescents to prevent illnesses such as diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib), measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chicken pox). Most of these vaccines are FREE and no appointment is needed for immunization clinic. We offer adult immunizations for influenza, pneumonia, and tetanus. Our local health departments also administer some vaccines needed for foreign travel for a fee. Appointments are needed to receive foreign travel vaccines.
All required childhood immunizations are free of charge. Vaccines available to adults and non-code of Virginia vaccines for children.

Immunizations such as those required to complete children's primary series--diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, haemophilus influenzae B (HIB), and hepatitis B are provided free. Charges will apply to other available vaccines for children and adult vaccines such as tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, influenza, meningococcal, and pneumonia.
Adult Immunizations for disease prevention and foreign travel are available at each office. The Virginia Vaccines For Children Program provides the vaccines necessary for children from birth to 18 years of age to protect against childhood illnesses. Those required for children entering school for the first time are free. Fees for other vaccines are based on a sliding scale for eligible children.

Through this program, the Health District seeks to insure that every child in Richmond is fully immunized against infectious diseases by the age of two.
