State required immunizations for children are available at no charge. No appointment is necessary. Influenza and pneumonia vaccines, information and most immunizations for overseas travel.

Services include an initial travel consultation to review travel itinerary, previous immunizations, chronic diseases, pregnancy, and/or special disability needs. Appropriate immunizations and other preventive medications are offered based on CDC recommendations and requirements specific to the travel itinerary. Additional information is provided regarding visa/embassy requirements, evacuation insurance, food and water safety, insect protection, and other general travel tips.

Each of the county health departments provide immunizations for infants, children and adolescents to prevent illnesses such as diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib), measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chicken pox). Most of these vaccines are FREE and no appointment is needed for immunization clinic. Offer adult immunizations for Influenza, Pneumonia, and Tetanus. Our local health departments also administer some vaccines needed for foreign travel for a fee. Appointments are needed to receive foreign travel vaccines.

The Alexandria Health Department offers routine immunizations for infants, teens and adults. Also provides mpox vaccines.

Great Bridge's main office provides routine immunizations to children at no cost. Adult immunizations are also available.

Immunizations required for entry into school are free of charge. Influenza, rabies, and adult vaccines and vaccines for international travel are also provided.

New River Health District offers all childhood vaccines (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, HPV, haemophilus influenzae B (HIB), and hepatitis B) and adult vaccines such as tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, influenza, meningococcal, and pneumonia. Travel-specific immunizations are also available. Some school-based clinics are available throughout the district.

Provides screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of all persons exposed to specific disease; tuberculosis, STD's, HIV/AIDS, food borne illness and more. Information is given regarding prevention from exposure, recognizing symptoms and obtaining treatment. Tuberculin skin test, free in some instances, chest x-rays, evaluation, monitoring of TB cases and contacts are provided. An anonymous HIV Counseling and Testing Clinic is offered.
