he EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center provides education, in-patient and outpatient care, and research focused on minimizing complications of diabetes and finding a cure.

Offers a team approach to providing the skills needed to manage diabetes: nutrition, exercise planning, blood glucose monitoring and discussion of medications and their actions. Serves adults with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes and children and pregnant women with diabetes. Provides diabetes support groups for adults and children and their parents.

Provides individualized care, group instruction, primary care physician follow-up, special programs for pediatric and OB patients, case management, lifestyle management, insulin pump education.

Provides a diabetic foot clinic for those diagnosed with diabetes.

The Diabetes Management education program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association offering education on a variety of topics including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, medical nutrition therapy, insulin pump initiation and support, gestational diabetes and pre-diabetes. Includes assessment with a Certified Diabetes Educator for a medical history, a brief physical exam, and goal setting for behavior changes. Follow-up care with a dietitian or RN for weight management, blood glucose control, and progress toward goals. Private instruction with an RN for insulin initiation, adjustments and management. Nutrition Counseling includes meal planning, carbohydrate counting, weight management, and incorporating meals and exercise. Day and evening classes are offered.

Monthly meetings are held with informative talks about diabetes. Certified Diabetes Educators, Clinical Dietitians, Pharmacies and other staff members at Augusta Health are also available to speak with individuals who have been diagnosed with diabetes and their families. The group is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Provides free medical care to the indigent in Warren County. Day Clinic is for the treatment of chronic illness including Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease and other ongoing illness by appointment only Mondays and Wednesdays. A walk-in clinic for existing patients on Tuesdays. We also offer an Every women's Life Clinic. Educates people with diabetes about issues relevant to their health. Different topics are addressed by presenters who are specialists in their fields. Topics include but are not limited to nutrition, exercise, vision and skin care. Please call to make sure there has not been a special schedule change.

Inova Diabetes Center offers comprehensive diabetes education classes, programs and support groups.

Centra's Diabetes program is designed to promote diabetes self-management. We provide diabetes education to patients, family members and caretakers, and we offer inpatient as well as outpatient education. All we ask is that patients provide a physician referral so we'll have information about their needs, and their medical providers will know the proper instructions. Provides a support group for diabetics that is open to all diabetics and their families. Offers an educational program, blood sugar testing and time for member discussions and sharing of experiences with regard to diabetes.
