This is the Center's one-of-a-kind Montessori-based activity program for adults with dementia. It is designed to use memory systems that are untapped in traditional activity programs.
Offers long-term and short term skilled nursing care, and Alzheimer's care. Provides Occupational, Speech and Physical therapy daily. Medicare, Medicaid, and many insurances are accepted.

Provides a safe, monitored and supportive environment. Offers a wide range of activities that emphasize residents strengths, promote independence and provide an opportunity for socializing. Provides 24 hour supervision. Staff receives specialized training so they can understand the complex, changing mental and physical needs of the residents with dementia and related problems. Ongoing training keeps staff members up to date on the latest care approaches and techniques for working with residents with special needs. Provides family services such as support groups, educational seminars, communication workshops and planned activities for all generations to enjoy together. ACCESSIBILITY: Fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Manor House operates its own transportation.

Provides a secure, licensed assistive living residence for those with Alzheimer's and other memory impairments. Includes bathing, dressing, toileting, meals and transferring into and out of wheelchairs. Offers shared and private rooms and transportation for scheduled trips and doctors appointments. Staff is specially trained in a relationship based Reminiscence program designed to create pleasant day for residents.
Provides an assisted living facility dedicated to Alzheimer's and other dementia patients. Royal Haven's team of trained care givers provide quality services for our residents' special needs. An LPN and RN provide professional support and skilled advice, which is available 24 hours a day. The facility is approved for Home Health and Hospice Care as well as Intensive Assisted Living from early-onset dementia through end of life care.

Offers intermediate, skilled, and complex care and rehabilitation. Services include 24-hour nursing care and sub-acute care. Provides physical, speech, and occupational therapy as needed. Dialysis is offered. Has on site lab and X-Ray unit. Does accept Alzheimer's patients and does have a designated unit for Alzheimer's. Also offers respite care.

Ways to implement: conversations, playing games that encourage interaction, cooking with conversation, storytelling Cognitive stimulation: Researchers have shown that engaging the mind in stimulating activities support those who are older adults or those with dementia in the following ways: improve cognitive function, delay cognitive decline, and improve daily functioning. Ways to implement: puzzles, games, reading together, doing simple math, playing musical instruments, crossword puzzles Reminiscence: Researchers have shown that incorporating reminiscence into interactions with older adults with or without dementia can: improve mood and ability to interact, improve behavior and cognition, assist with reducing depression, contribute to life satisfaction, maintain quality of life, and improve the ability to perform activities of daily living. Ways to Implement: Look at photo albums, make a scrapbook, read old letters/magazines/newspapers, look at and choose long-standing family recipes Physical Activity: Researchers have shown that incorporating physical activities into the lives of those with dementia may help in the following ways: improve memory and physical health, improve decision making and attention concerns. Ways to implement: walks, working in the yard, bowling, putt putt, hand massage, aromatherapy (Researchers have shown that using aromas may: promote relaxation, decrease stress and anxiety, increase motivation, and assist in developing healthy sleep patterns.) Self-Care: Learning about and implementing research based self-care practices offers students, care receivers, and also caregivers the chance to refuel the spirit, and refresh the mind and body. Self-care is essential to the well-being of caregivers and when neglected can cause much distress and a breakdown in the ability to age in place for both the caregiver and the loved one. Ways to implement: spending time in nature, enjoying music, creative arts activities, deep breathing, engaging joy and laughter, practicing self-compassion.
Alpha House offers specialized memory care for patients with Alzheimer's and/or dementia.
Provides assisted living and is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Offers both private and semi-private rooms, married couples may share a room, room accommodations with private baths available, community dining area, special dietary restrictions honored, medications are available as needed, assistance available for bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring, meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping. As we strive to maintain independence care is augmented by physicians and psychiatric and psychological assistance. We accept ambulatory, non-ambulatory and individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.

Helpline provides emotional support to the caller as well as information about Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, chapter services, and community resources. They also maintain updated information on community resources such as home care, adult day care, care coordination, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, elder care lawyers, financial planners, and transportation, additionally, they can help individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their families assess whether a specific care providers can meet their individual needs.
The Mind and Body Workshop provides innovative interventions for families who have an early diagnosis of MCI or another cognitive impairment. The workshop is a multi-session program series for both the early stage individual and care partner to participate together. Using activities that promote brain health, creative expression, movement, and well-being, the sessions help both parties adjust to and live well with memory loss.
