Provide an array of outpatient services for individuals age 18+ with mental illness, substance abuse disorders and intellectual disabilities. Services include psychiatric treatment, medication management, case management, in-home services, psychosocial clubhouse, and peer support. An individual service provided for individuals with intellectual disabilities who need in home support in order to remain in the family home. For these individuals, training and skills development under Residential Support Services is not appropriate. This service is equivalent to the personal care provided by the health department. Assistance is provided in personal care, activities of daily living, use of community resources, and medication and health related needs.

Provides a variety of programs and comprehensive support to those with intellectual disabilities. Services include residential and day support services through contractual agencies, respite care for persons with intellectual disabilities, and early intervention services for delayed and at risk infants 0-2 years (PACE).

Respite Services include short-term relief for primary caregivers of individuals with disabilities by trained staff of The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham. Respite is conducted in the participants' home and allows caregivers to attend to daily needs such as grocery shopping and personal doctors appointments while Direct Service Professionals care for and engage with their adult child(ren).

Provides case management services, as identified in a detailed person centered plan, to assess the needs (medical, psychiatric, social, educational, residential, etc) of individuals with intellectual disabilities and coordinates, links, and monitors supports for qualifying individuals.

The Day Support Program assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be more independent, learn new things, visit new places and make new friends. We provide individualized training in daily living skills, socialization, pre-vocational skills, and communication.

Offers comprehensive human services for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Provides temporary, substitute care for people with intellectual disabilities in the place of care normally provided by the family or other caregivers. Offered in the consumer's home, the respite provider's home, or in a community respite setting. Also provided on an emergency basis when caregivers are unexpectedly hospitalized or otherwise unable to provide normal care.

Encourages and facilitates participation in individualized activities, ensures safety, and provides needed practical support such as the administration of medication, transportation to community outings, etc. An overall focus on maximizing potential and skill-building is at the core of day support values. Some specific skills that is supported include self-care and hygiene, eating, toileting, task learning, community resource utilization, behavioral, social, as well as opportunities for peer interaction and community integration. OPTIONS centers offer: Life skills room to learn how to make a bed, iron, hang clothing, vacuum, and operate everyday appliances Flower and vegetable gardens Game room Book club Outdoor spaces for walking, relaxing, bird watching, and playing basketball Community Engagement activities (when possible): visiting local libraries, volunteering at local churches and Meals on Wheels, touring local museums, going to the movies, having lunch at local restaurants

Offers a Developmental Day Support Program to individuals who need additional assistance in developing independence in the activities of daily living. The target population for the program will be those individuals with developmental disabilities who fall within the severe to profound range of Intellectual Disability. Mental health Skill Building (MHSB) is a home based program that provides support in the home and in the community, for adults who have a diagnosed mental illness. Our MHSB program focuses on teaching skills to promote clients ability to get their needs met and live independently while managing mental health symptoms. Competencies worked on are goal setting, symptom mental health management, adherence to medical treatment plans, personal hygiene, nutrition & food preparation, money management and social skills including going on social outings. Support and adherence to psychiatric and medication treatment plans. Monitoring of housing, medical, educational, rehabilitative and psychiatric services. Mental health symptom management. Social skills and creating a personal support system. Personal hygiene. Healthier living teaching nutrition, food preparation, accessing community resources, and promoting and encouraging healthy leisure activities. Budgeting and money management skills. Assist in overcoming emotional and behavioral barriers to vocational success.

Frontier Industries is dedicated to empowering people with developmental, emotional and/or physical disabilities offering vocational, employment, residential, developmental and community integration services to achieve personal independence. Supported Living offers needed supports for adults with developmental disabilities who choose to live in their own homes.

Plans, develops, and implements services for Virginia Beach residents with intellectual disabilities and their families through the provision of consumer centered services designed to provide opportunities to individuals who have intellectual disabilities to become self-directing and contributing members of our community; support families living with family member with intellectual disabilities; provide early intervention when developmental delays are identified in young children; and, promote the value of persons with intellectual disabilities living and working in the community.

The CSB provides support for people with developmental disabilities in the community, through support coordination, day support, employment and residential services.
