Offers comprehensive rehabilitative care to adults with musculoskeletal impairment due to traumatic injury, overuse and disease. Aids in recovery from an array of disabilities and neuromusculoskeltal disorders. Offers multidisciplinary treatment, including occupational and physical therapy, speech therapy, vocational counseling, psychological and social intervention, rehabilitation nursing, acupuncture, pain management and recreation. Evaluation and care may consist of electrodiagnostic studies, neuroconduction studies, evoked potentials, orthotic & prosthetic prescriptions, gait evaluation and functional assessment of physical disabilities. Head Injury Program provides primary and rehabilitative inpatient and outpatient care for patients with traumatic brain injuries. The Spinal Cord Program provides comprehensive medical and rehabilitation care for paraplegic and quadriplegic inpatients and outpatients with regular follow-ups. The Stroke Program gives primary and rehabilitation care to inpatients who then graduate to the outpatient clinic. The Sports Medicine and Musculoskeletal Program provides outpatient rehabilitation care.

Provides short-term specialized treatment, rehabilitation, and other forms of assistance to help people with acquired brain injury move forward in their rehabilitation and live more independently in home and community settings of their choice. Provides community-based case management for individuals affected by brain injury. Case management includes identifying needs and developing a plan of action to meet those needs. Help individuals and their caregivers find their way through the rehabilitation process which can last for years following an injury. After determining what an individual needs and would like to accomplish, we identify and coordinate services to help them reach their goals. Monitor progress toward those goals and build partnerships and teams to create a lasting network for continued support. Primary function is to help individuals affected by brain injury return to their lives - to their homes, careers, school and communities - to the greatest extent possible.

Provides nursing home and rehabilitative care for individuals aged 50 and over.

Offers 24-hour nursing care and around the clock admissions for skilled or intermediate levels of care, for individuals needing short-term rehabilitation or respite care, or those needing long-term care. Also provides a secured Dementia Unit that is specifically devoted to the care of individuals with Alzheimer's and other related dementia disorders.

Provides a skilled nursing home just minutes from Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital. In addition to providing long-term care also provide short-term care for those recuperating after an illness, injury or surgery. Services include physical, speech and occupational therapy and wound care.

Paws For Purple Hearts provides assistance dogs and canine-assisted therapeutic programs to America's Warriors facing mobility challenges and trauma-related conditions such as PTSD and TBI.

Offers in-patient rehab after a hospital stay, long term nursing care, a SECURED memory care unit and a respite care program for family care givers. In house rehabilitation services offered include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. We have a staff psychologist and a visiting psychiatrist to address mental health needs of our residents. OSW offers in patient visits with a wound care physician as well as a staff wound nurse. Specialized programs within the department are the interdisciplinary Augmentative/Alternative Communication Program and the Assistive Listening Device Program. Program goal is to provide support services to all deaf and hard of hearing individuals, and to encourage students to achieve their highest level of functioning.
