A service to help men and women plan their families. This enables them to plan pregnancies when they are ready and prevent unplanned pregnancies. Family planning services: An annual gynecological examination that may includes a breast exam; pap test; screening for Sexually Transmitted Illnesses (STIs); preconception and nutrition information; and health education and counseling all based on individual health needs. Birth control methods are provided as part of the yearly exam.

Provides confidential sexual and reproductive health services to teens, women, and men. Services available at all five New River Health District locations include education and counseling, physical exams, pap smears, pregnancy tests, testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, PReP, and a wide range of birth control options. Implants and IUDs - are available at each of the locations and can be inserted right on-site by clinicians. Birth control injections, pills, patches, rings, diaphragms, and condoms are also available.

The Family Planning program's goal is to assist women and men with the decision to have children and if so, how many and how far apart they want to space them. Family Planning clinics are available at each health department. Services include a physical exam, a pap smear, a check for sexually transmitted infections, a discussion of birth control, treatment of minor vaginal disorders and the contraceptive method of choice.

A home visiting, case management program providing nursing assessment, medical and social referrals for high risk pregnant women and infants up to the age of two.

Provides environmental and health services for area residents. This includes well and septic permits, food safety inspections, family planning, STD treatments, immunizations, communicable disease investigations, HIV/AIDS testing, care and supportive services, and women, infants and children (WIC) nutrition services.

Services include interdisciplinary diagnostic assessment by a team of physician, social worker, educational consultant, and psychologist, diagnosis, care planning, and care coordination.

An in-home visiting program matches experienced mothers with pregnant teenagers to help provide guidance as they make the adjustment to motherhood.

Provides pregnancy and birth parent counseling, adoption and post-adoption services to the residents of Virginia. Counseling is free and confidential. A variety of adoption options are available including parental placements, open adoption of all types, and traditional placements. The Partnership for Adoptions program finds permanent, adoptive homes for older children in the foster care system. The Possibilities Project provides housing and wrap-around services for youth who have aged out of foster-care Pregnancy counseling, adoption and post adoption services and housing and wraparound services for children who have aged out of foster care.

Provides trained volunteers to serve as listening, compassionate one-on-one friends for women and families facing unplanned pregnancies and connect them to life-affirming services. Discusses options in a nonjudgmental manner. Does not refer to abortion providers. Meet volunteers off site in person, per email and by phone.
