A service to help men and women plan their families. This enables them to plan pregnancies when they are ready and prevent unplanned pregnancies. An annual gynecological examination that may includes a breast exam; pap test; screening for Sexually Transmitted Illnesses (STIs); preconception and nutrition information; and health education and counseling all based on individual health needs. Birth control methods are provided as part of the yearly exam

Roanoke Health Center provides professional and affordable health care in a nonjudgmental environment. Medical services include annual check ups, cancer screenings, urinary tract infection and vaginal infection treatment, birth control consultation and supplies, pregnancy testing and options counseling, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, confidential HIV testing, surgical and medication abortion. The Resource Mother is a community health worker who develops a supportive mentoring relationship with the teen and her family. From the prenatal period through the infant’s first birthday, the resource mother provides health education; discusses ways to prevent infant injury; models daily living skills; encourages constructive decision making and life-planning; connects the teen to community resources; and provides guidance to assist the teen in making a successful transition to parenthood. The Resource Mother has weekly contact with the teen and her family. This program uses a two-generation or three-generation approach to serve target populations. Educational and support services are also available to other family members such as the partner, the teen's parents, and the infant.
Offers pregnancy confirmation, peer counseling on pregnancy options, STI testing and nurse's assessment. ALL services are free and confidential. Connections Program connects patients with local community resources that offer assistance and education while supporting them in all aspects of their well-being.

Provides Family Access to Medical Insurance Program (FAMIS). Provides health coverage for children who have not had any health insurance coverage for 6 months. Designed to cover children of working VA families who make too much money to qualify for Medicaid and too little to afford private health insurance.
