Partners with the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide access to the Technology Assistance Program. This program provides low-cost telephone and signaling equipment to Virginia residents who are deaf or hard of hearing.
A support group for ostomates. Have designated funds to help purchase supplies, work through their insurance company and Appomattox Pharmacy.

A medication assistance program to obtain prescription medications at no or low cost to eligible patients, directly from the manufacturer, based upon manufacturer eligibility guidelines. Due to the time frame required to process applications (by the manufacturers), this program is most suitable for medications taken chronically and not for medication needed immediately, such as antibiotics. No controlled substances (schedules II, III and IV) are requested by health department programs even though such pharmaceutical programs may exist.

Provides a variety of home health care equipment and supplies, including oxygen therapy and respiratory care. Reimbursement specialists will help you explore all possible methods of payment and file claims on your behalf with contracted HMO's, insurance companies, Workers Compensation, Medicare and Medicaid.
VPAS' Emergency Services program provides one-time immediate financial assistance and other resources, including referrals to other public and private agencies to older adults who have an emergency need. Emergency Services may include payment assistance for medication refills, assistive devices, and utility and rent payments. Assistance is provided one-time, per year, per older adult age 60+, who must have an emergency need for help which endangers their health and/or well-being.
