Assist Soldiers and their Family members in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own. Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant, or combination of the two. Loans are repaid by an allotment.

Sliding Scale discount program offers low-income families the opportunity to access medical (family practice and pediatrics) and dental at a reduced cost. Application is required.

Provides temporary rental assistance, mortgage, utilities, food, household products, prescriptions, transportation, and dental costs for individuals and families residing in New River Valley and transients who are experiencing a financial crisis who meet the eligibility guidelines. · Utility payment assistance - up to $500 per year · Food, household supplies, diapers, and infant formula - monthly Assistance is available for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines (example: $52,400 for a family of four). VPAS' Emergency Services program provides one-time immediate financial assistance and other resources, including referrals to other public and private agencies to older adults who have an emergency need. Emergency Services may include payment assistance for medication refills, assistive devices, and utility and rent payments. Assistance is provided one-time, per year, per older adult age 60+, who must have an emergency need for help which endangers their health and/or well-being.
