Inova Blood Donor Services collects blood and blood components that help save lives in the community. Inova Blood Donor Services supplies blood, blood components and/or testing to hospitals and medical centers.
Offers First Aid, Safety Education and CPR instruction.
Blood donation is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. Whether a patient receives whole blood, red cells, platelets or plasma, this lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation.
Bloodmobiles scheduled throughout city and county on regular basis throughout the year. Dates and times published in local print and radio media, poster.
AGR is a program of Anatomic Gift Foundation, Inc., an independent, non-profit, anatomic donation organization that supports advancements in scientific research and medical education.
Screens prospective donors and draws blood for donation.
This program provides monthly community bloodmobile to accommodate those who volunteer to donate their blood so that the Red Cross can assure a safe, adequate supply of blood to the Appalachian region hospitals served.
The Blood Donation Center accepts whole blood and platelet donations.

The Virginia State Anatomical Program is authorized to receive donations of human bodies for scientific study. The primary mission of the VSAP is to educate health professionals by providing human donors for the teaching of anatomy and surgery and medical research.
The American Red Cross is the single largest supplier of blood in the United States, providing approximatley 40 percent of the nation's blood supply. Blood and platelets are needed for many different reasons--accident and burn victims, heart surgery patients, organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease may all need blood. Anyone age 17 and over - weigh at least 110 lbs - in good health - can donate blood.
Does not provide general financial assistance. Offers classes for first aid, HIV/AIDS and fire safety. Provides disaster services and emergency shelter in times of disaster as well as contact for military families in cases of emergency. Volunteer opportunities available.
