The Loving Steps Program is the Virginia Healthy Start Initiative. It provides case management services during pregnancy and after delivery in order to prevent infant deaths. The Loving Steps team works to get you the services you need, answer your questions, and teach you about taking care of yourself and your baby.

The Virginia Healthy Start Initiative, known as Loving Steps, is a community-based program designed to reduce infant mortality and low birth weight that provides client recruitment, case management, medical nutrition therapy, health education, perinatal depression screening and inter-conceptional care services to pregnant women, inter-conceptional women and children up to 2 years of age.
