The TB Management program aims to control, prevent and eliminate tuberculosis in the community. The program offers free and confidential TB risk assessment screenings on Mondays by appointment only. For those diagnosed with TB or a Latent TB Infection, the TB team collaborates with a patient’s medical provider to provide tuberculosis case management to include the provision of medication and care coordination. In addition, the TB team assists with identifying associated cases, the testing of contacts, transportation for CXRs and home visits to deliver medication to perform Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) and Directly Observed Preventative Therapy (DOPT).

The goal of the tuberculosis control program is to prevent the spread of the disease tuberculosis in the community by identifying illness, providing treatment, and taking actions to prevent the spread of disease. The Health Department provides a full range of services including physician diagnosis and treatment, testing, medications, and careful oversight of disease treatment. In addition, screening services to identify risk for developing tuberculosis are provided.
Clinic services include tuberculin skin tests, chest x-rays, and TB treatment.

Provides medical and educational services related to four areas of communicable disease, including STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), Tuberculosis, non-STD communicable diseases, and HIV/AIDS. Services provided includes: Communicable Disease, Surveillance and Investigation, Outbreak Investigation, TB case management STD/HIV Clinics, and Refugee Health Services. Able to speak multiple languages via interpreter line.

Communicable disease investigation, surveillance, and control are District services. The District is actively involved in emergency and disaster planning, including possible pandemic flu events and conducts investigations of suspected food and water borne outbreaks, conducts surveillance for infectious diseases, and provides guidance for rabies exposure. Sexually transmitted diseases can be treated at the clinics, free of charge. Free, confidential HIV testing and counseling also is available.

Health department offices provide assistance and referral for treatment for those exposed to tuberculosis. Does not provide routine tuberculosis testing for employment purposes.
