Text 4 Baby: An educational program that sends free messages each week to your cell phone to help you through your pregnancy and your babys first year. For more, information, or to sign up, visit the Text 4 Baby website www.text4baby.org. Baby Care: Education and case management services provided by a registered nurse to pregnant women and infants up to 2 years of age who are Medicaid eligible. Resource Mothers: A special mentoring program for first time pregnant or parenting teens. Teens will receive education about taking care of themselves and their infants up to one year of age. Teens will benefit from assistance with setting educational goals, accessing healthcare, and planning for the future care of their infant. Car Seat Program: Free, new car seats, including infant convertible seats and booster seats for older children, are available to families who qualify. Parents must attend a short instructional session to learn the correct placement and use of the car seat or booster seat.
Officers who have been trained in the proper installation of child safety seats will assist in installing a child seat.

Offers help to women, families, and unborn children through the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy. Serve teens and adults, both married and single. Services include free and confidential pregnancy tests, parenting classes, Bible studies, mentoring, new mothers classes and referrals to other agencies. Provide baby clothing up to age 5, baby formula, baby food, maternity clothing, cribs, car seats for children up to age 4. Services are not limited to new mothers. Assist families in need.

Chickahominy Health District participates in the state wide car seat distribution program. Seats are available for children from birth to 8 years of age. The District receives a limited amount of car seats on a regular basis which are given to individuals who meet eligibility requirements.
Specially trained and certified sheriff's deputies will help parents and caregivers ensure that a child fits securely in the safety seat and that the safety seat fits securely in the vehicle seat. These FREE inspections take place once a month on a Saturday.
