Provides English language classes and college and career readiness navigation for immigrants and refugee populations.

Provides a setting where classroom staff provide help youth age 6 to 18 with daily homework assignments. Children and youth are encouraged by rewards and treats to enjoy the process of learning in the classroom setting. Also offers recreational activities.
Twice weekly tutoring and mentoring services for at-risk middle and high school students.
Provides services for incarcerated (or formerly incarcerated) parents, their children, and the children's caregivers. Services include both individual and group tutorial sessions. Children participate in community service projects and monthly workshops. Parents and caregivers also attend workshops and seminars to assist with transitioning and meeting the needs of the children.

Project Discovery is designed to stimulate first-generation college-bound students through information and encouragement. Activities include cultural workshops, guidance in class selection, SOL and SAT preparatory classes, workshops in both financial aid and college life, and college campus tours. Project Discovery s curriculum offers students a place to define and build their character and their self-esteem through relationships established with one another and their Program Specialist.

Project Discovery is a community-based initiative that helps high school students stay in school and become the first in their families to attend college. The success of Project Discovery is the partnership between the community, public schools and colleges. STOP Incorporated implements Project Discovery in high schools in local high schools. Students in the 9th through 12th grades are eligible to participate. The initiative provides field trips to colleges and universities and financial aid application assistance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake and Norfolk STOP's Technology Busprovides elementary to high school students with a mobile technology and training system that creates opportunities for inclusion in the computer programming industry. This initiative provides students onboard, at local multi-city stops, with code-building processes, mentorship and engagement to prepare them for future economic advancement. The Technology Bus provides learning opportunities in computer programming, software design, gaming and robotics and computer repair and maintenance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton Youth Development Initiatives are designed to engage youth in middle and high school. These programs provide opportunities for them to gain knowledge in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics fields through fun and innovative workshops covering these topics. STOP provides comprehensive summer camp experiences that focus on science and technology as well as tutorial sessions for youth focusing on areas of individual need to ensure that educational fundamentals are obtained. STOP's Youth Development initiatives also encourages students to stay in and graduate high school and provides resources and tools for students to successfully make the transition to post-secondary education. Project Discovery is school drop-out prevention, college access preparatory program serving economically disadvantaged and first generation college students. The program is designed to promote education as a means to ending the cycle of poverty for current and future generations of students. Students attend various informative workshops designed to stimulate interest in attending and graduating colleges and or preparatory schools. Youth Development Program is an after school tutorial and mentoring program that is designed for youth of all ages. Also offer, summer enrichment program designed for children in grades 3-7, the emphasis of the Summer Enrichment Program is on developing a strong academic program through mastery of SOL objectives on the students appropriate grade level.
Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in basic reading, writing, math, English, computers/technology, personal finances, citizenship, and immigration tutoring. Local partners for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, coordinate the Winchester Little Libraries that provide free books as well as leading the Campaign for Grade-level Reading.

Project Discovery works with middle and high school students in Tazewell County providing workshops & activities in career exploration and college preparation, cultural and recreation events, and visits to colleges and universities. Students must be first-generation college students to be eligible to participate. A new community initiative is our College Fair. The Fair hosts representatives from the following colleges, universities and other post-secondary opportunities: Bluefield University, Bluefield State University, Concord University, Old Dominion University, East Tennessee State University, Tusculum University, Wytheville Community College, King University, University of Virginia, Southwest Virginia Community College, National Guard and Tri-County Driving Academy. This one-day event allows high school students to learn about available opportunities and options to continue their education.
Youth Work Experience Coaches to Ensure Success The Goodwill Youth Work Experience program provides work experience and vocational activities to youth, ages 14 to 21, who are economically disadvantaged and at-risk. The program focuses on areas such as developing work maturity skills, writing a resume, interview skills, problem solving skills, and support services. Youth are referred to the Youth Work Experience program by community and state agencies or the local school systems. The program is funded through the Children's Services Act (CSA) and local or state government. The Youth Work Experience program provides: Paid work experience Transportation Leadership development Supportive services Occupational training skills Follow-up services Benefits of the Program Work within the home community leads to understanding of the importance of giving back. Referral from appropriate agency ensures program outcomes match with youth's needs. Provided transportation ensures participation. Paid community work experience is an educational stipend. Four to one ratio ensures personalized attention. Services are provided as needed in a variety of community settings at times that are agreeable to the youth and his/her family.

A post-secondary access program currently offered through 24 Partner Agencies throughout Virginia in grades four to twelve. Project Discovery encourages students to stay in and graduate high school and provides resources and tools for students to successfully make the transition to post-secondary education. This is the central administrative office for this program. Project Discovery is a proven and replicable program that will help any student succeed in high school and get into college. Over the last 11 years over 84% of our graduates have gone on to post secondary education. Our program is a proven mix to: *Mentoring; *Time Management Skills; *Study Skills; *Help with Remedial Classes; *Help with Advanced Classes; *Visioning and Planning for the Future; *College Admissions Help; *Financial Aid Assistance; *Financial Literacy; College Campus Visits.
An educational prevention program serving middle and high school youth who are first generation to attend college, economically disadvantaged and/or need help in improving social skills and grades. Afterschool program consists of motivational life-skill workshops, guest speakers and field trips to colleges, sporting events, businesses, and exposure to culturally enriching activities. Youth perform community service through volunteering and runs the entire year.

Tidewater Tutors is a mobile tutoring company in Hampton Roads. Tutor all grades and in all subjects.
Provides tutoring for K-4th graders, from 2:15PM-4:15PM, Monday-Thursday. Children have 1:1 tutoring in reading and math, computer lab, and enrichment time. Kids are invited to optional Bible Club on Fridays designed to enrich academically.
