Community College providing young adults exiting the school divisions and adults already out of school with opportunities to acquire independent living, self-advocacy and employment skills in an integrated college environment. The program is sponsored by various community agencies.

AVR offers twelve Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that provide students with the necessary skills for higher education or the work-force. Students have the opportunity to earn both a High School Diploma and a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certificate.

Offers free basic skills instruction to adult students,18 and older, living in the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Tazewell in Virginia. Programs are designed to meet the needs of adults who have not completed high school. Classes are offered in Adult Basic Education/Pre-GED and GED preparation. All classes are free and are conveniently located throughout the region. Offer several certification classes including CNA, Welding, Paraprofessional and ServSafe. Also offer workforce preparation classes, financial literacy, computer skills and the National Career Readiness Certificate.

Provides a summer employment program, Teens at Work, to enable young teens to work at area businesses and non-profits. We provide job experience, vocational training, and incentives.

Courses offered include: agriculture, auto body repair, building maintenance, building trades, business, child care, cosmetology, criminal justice, culinary arts, drafting, electricity, family science, horticulture, marketing, networking, nursing, small engine repair, technology, and welding.

Adult and Community Education offers a wide variety of courses, certificate programs, and career training to adults and children.

Maintains a statewide system of apprenticeship training including registration and certification. Program assists employers in developing training programs, providing technical assistance and customer service to existing programs and registering qualified applicants for program participation.

The goal of the program is to prepare unemployed, underemployed, previously incarcerated persons, and homeless adults for careers in the foodservice industry. The 14-week Culinary Curriculum covers all facets of work in a professional kitchen. The program includes "hands-on" training instructed by an ACF Culinary Coordinator.

Students are taught the math and physics involved in the design and operation of an electric guitar; they then apply this knowledge by building their own instrument. In addition to the science they learn some woodworking, soldering, finishing, assembly and test skills. Music for Life covers the school's cost of the unique tool kit required and the guitar material costs for low income students. All class materials and teacher training are provided as needed.

Provides regular education programs for grades kindergarten through twelve and special education and vocational programs for ages two through twenty one. Burton offers in-depth study not available in other classes; hands-on experiences, integrated curriculum, enriching experiences, travel opportunities, specialized training and internships. Many programs offer dual-enrollment. Most first year students miss only one class at their base school while earning two credits at Burton.

Provides vocational and technical training for high school students and adults. Offers adult continuing education programs in cooperation with Alleghany Highlands Public Schools and Covington City Schools.

The ACE Center at Highland Springs prepares students for employment and further education. One or two year block courses in skill-based programs are offered to Henrico County students to prepare them for job entry skills.

Offers instruction in auto body repair, auto mechanics, cosmetology, data processing, electronics, food services, health occupations, TV communications, masonry, welding, utility/heavy duty construction technology, carpentry, emergency medical technology, computer network administration and PC technology. Adult education is also offered through the Pruden Center.

Achieve assists people with disabilities or disadvantages achieve greater independence and self-esteem through vocational training and employment.
