Provides a business, technical, and vocational training center with a commitment towards optimal performance in serving business, technical, and vocational needs of high school age students, adults, community agencies, and businesses and industries in Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro. The primary or major objective of the Center is to provide high school students with competent vocational training which will provide them with the basic skills, knowledge, and techniques of their chosen vocation. Another objective of the Center is to provide vocational training to adults from within the communities served who wish to broaden or upgrade their skills in a given vocational area. A third purpose of the Center is to provide competently trained people with job entry level skills to help meet the needs of the local and state labor markets.

Provides vocational educational programs that prepare students to transition into higher education or a profession by engaging in the educational process that focus on the needs and interests of students. Programs that are offered cover the area of agriculture education, business and information technology, career connections, family and consumer sciences, technology education, and trade and industrial education.

The purpose of LIFT is to provide apartment-based Independent Living and Support Services to help foster care youth, ages 17-21, transition from residential care to independent living. Youth receive housing, vocational and educational services, life skills training, therapeutic services (counseling, therapy and/or substance abuse education), and the development of a network of support services in the community. LIFT is licensed for 25-beds for males & females transitioning from the foster care system to independent living in the community.

Provides a summer employment program, Teens at Work, to enable young teens to work at area businesses and non-profits. We provide job experience, vocational training, and incentives.

Offers a private school for cosmetology.

Burton offers in-depth study not available in other classes; hands-on experiences, integrated curriculum, enriching experiences, travel opportunities, specialized training and internships. Many programs offer dual-enrollment. Most first year students miss only one class at their base school while earning two credits at Burton.

Youth Work Experience Coaches to Ensure Success The Goodwill Youth Work Experience program provides work experience and vocational activities to youth, ages 14 to 21, who are economically disadvantaged and at-risk. The program focuses on areas such as developing work maturity skills, writing a resume, interview skills, problem solving skills, and support services. Youth are referred to the Youth Work Experience program by community and state agencies or the local school systems. The program is funded through the Children's Services Act (CSA) and local or state government. The Youth Work Experience program provides: Paid work experience Transportation Leadership development Supportive services Occupational training skills Follow-up services Benefits of the Program Work within the home community leads to understanding of the importance of giving back. Referral from appropriate agency ensures program outcomes match with youth's needs. Provided transportation ensures participation. Paid community work experience is an educational stipend. Four to one ratio ensures personalized attention. Services are provided as needed in a variety of community settings at times that are agreeable to the youth and his/her family.

The program provides numerous careers-technical education classes for students ages 16 through 99 living in Richmond and surrounding areas. Off street parking is provided and program is accessible for the handicapped.

Provides a career and technical school for students from the 3 high schools of Shenandoah County. Also offers GED preparation.

Vocational program for high school students and adults. Offers: auto collision repair, automotive technician, diesel mechanics, small engine repair, carpentry, masonry, electricity, computer technology, cosmetology, criminal justice, welding, graphic arts, LPN, dental assistance, pharmacy assistance, pre-vocational program (for 9th grade only). Provides regular education programs for grades kindergarten through twelve and special education and vocational programs for ages two through twenty one. Achieve assists people with disabilities or disadvantages achieve greater independence and self-esteem through vocational training and employment.

Apprenticeship program offering an opportunity to learn the shipyard trades through on the job training as well as classroom training.

C4K combines mentoring and technology to prepare youth for brighter futures. C4K equips diverse youth from low-income households with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills that prepare them to be competitive for college and career opportunities. Do so through: Supportive 1:1 and group mentoring Workshops led by staff and experts Field trips to help members explore college and career possibilities Access to industry-level technology A vibrant and fun learning environment Offer personalized, professional-level support to youth creating projects in programming, game design, electrical engineering, robotics, audio and video production, 3D modeling plus our newest tech, virtual reality. Offer two types of mentoring: One-to-one mentoring: All new youth members are matched with a mentor, and work shoulder-to-shoulder to plan, create and evaluate 1 STEAM project. Group mentoring: All members invited to drop-in any time, for group-mentoring projects.

Services are provided for students in grades 7-12 to prepare students for employment and continued education and training for careers in many fields. Co-curricular student organization provide opportunities for students to develop leadership, personal growth and career success.

Provides training to develop competent nursing and allied healthcare professionals to meet the human resource needs of Sentara Healthcare. Programs include a baccalaureate program in nursing, associates program in Cardiovascular Technology, a diploma in Surgical Technology, and certificate programs in Nurse Aide, Care Partner and Monitor Surveillance technology.

Career and technical education for high school students. Offers instruction in auto body repair, auto mechanics, cosmetology, data processing, electronics, food services, health occupations, TV communications, masonry, welding, utility/heavy duty construction technology, carpentry, emergency medical technology, computer network administration and PC technology. Adult education is also offered through the Pruden Center.

Provides educational opportunities as a two year institution of higher education. Offers Associate Degree, one year Certificate programs, distance learning, and job training programs.

ACE Center at Hermitage provides career and technical education programs for all students, to assist each student in reaching his/her potential, and to prepare students to be responsible and productive citizens in an ever changing technological world. H.T.C. offers 21 career and technical education programs.

AVR offers twelve Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that provide students with the necessary skills for higher education or the work-force. Students have the opportunity to earn both a High School Diploma and a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certificate.

Provide for the education and employment related needs of limited English proficient adults who live and work in Arlington.

The ACE Center at Highland Springs prepares students for employment and further education. One or two year block courses in skill-based programs are offered to Henrico County students to prepare them for job entry skills.
