Charterhouse School is a fully accredited school and fully equipped school serving students with specialized education needs and residents in the Shineforth Treatment Center. The Oberle Academy is dedicated to supporting students with special needs. Offers small class sizes, and individualized instruction.

Russell County Public Schools, comprised of twelve schools and a Career and Technical Center, provides pre-K through 12 public education, including special education and gifted programs, to student ages two through 21. The Villa Education Center provides academic and behavioral education for students ages 5 to 22 diagnosed with autism and other related developmental disabilities. We provide highly individualized education and behavior supports based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with a focus on building life skills that lead to greater independence and successful transitions to adulthood.
