Middle Peninsula Regional Adult Continuing Education provides instruction to adults to improve basic academic skills (reading, writing, and math), GED Preparation (for high school equivalency) and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). Middle Peninsula Regional Adult & Career Education (R.A.C.E.) is a Consortium made up of the public school systems in the counties of Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex, and the Town of West Point. It is one of the 22 Federal and State funded adult basic education programs serving the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Offers tutoring in basic literacy skills and English language for adults over the age of 18. Instruction is provided by trained volunteer tutors who meet with the adult students weekly at mutually convenient places and times.

GED prep and computer instruction are provided by the library's Adult Learning Lab. Also offered are children programs and children reference service, local history and genealogy collection with area census data.
