Literacy for Life provides individualized, one-to-one and small group tutoring and classes for adults in reading, writing, math , ESL, VPT Preparation, work skills and health literacy. The program also supports learners pursuing high school completion through the General Educational Development (GED) Test and National External Diploma Program (NEDP). Literacy for Life's offsite program provides classes taught by professional instructors at area businesses, nonprofit agencies, and public schools.

Established to assist those whose clients have a need for adult education/literacy services. Coordinates & promotes community participation and acts as a referral network between educational providers and public service providers.

Provides outdoor experiences and academic programs, at no cost, for inner city and at-risk youths, including a multi-week summer camp. Free literacy services for adults with low reading/speaking skills provided by volunteer tutors. ESLC provides training for volunteer tutors as well as professional development opportunities.

Programs for adults include computer and financial literacy, career development and ESL. Residents in need can participate in individualized case management, focusing on eviction prevention and emergency food and financial assistance to keep them stable and in their homes.

Provides confidential tutoring and classes, including remote services, for adults, free of charge with a one-time registration fee, using trained instructors and volunteers. One-to-one tutoring is available for any adult who wants to improve his or her literacy ability. This program serves non-native English speakers. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes are available for non-native English speakers. Offers five levels of English classes (Pre-Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Post-Advanced), as well as specialized classes and citizenship classes throughout the year.

The Refugee Resettlement program welcomes refugees, empowering people escaping persecution to begin new lives with dignity through early self-sufficiency. CCC strives to help these newcomers as they transition into our society while also fostering a community climate of acceptance for persons of different cultures. Services include orientation, employment, case management, English as a Second Language classes, school liaison services, medical liaison services and housing.

Credit and non-credit ESL courses in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, Accent Reduction, Conversation, and TOEFEL preparation offered at the college. Also administers on-site workplace and corporate ESL classes. Language lab and tutoring are available for students in the program. Serves as the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library affiliate providing free books monthly to children from birth to 5th birthday.

Provides an Immigration Resource Center that offers help to immigrants in the community. Services include help with immigration paperwork, English as a Second Language Classes, medical bill management as well as immigrant learning tours to acquaint immigrants with community life in the Shenandoah Valley.

Reach Out and Read (ROR) help integrate reading into pediatric practices, advise families about the importance of reading with their children, and share books that serve as a catalyst for healthy childhood development.

The Migrant Program is especially designed to provide continuity in the child's education. The program is held for six weeks during the summer and provides essential learning skills, food, and medical care for the children of migrant workers. Sessions of arts, crafts, and vocational instruction are offered, dependent upon funding. The children are given 3 meals a day as well as the opportunity to bathe and brush their teeth. There is a bilingual program for those students whose first language is Spanish or French Creole (Haitian).
